    Battery equalisation charge

This is not what happens with my MG4 SE SR 25k km. 2023 demo My observations: 100% is triggered by cell voltage of highest cell hitting 3.65V HighestV/Lowest V cell Delta at this point is 265mV. On hitting 100%, power in drops to ~300W instantly per wasmac above "Balancing" takes up to...

New MG4 Trophy LR Vehicle Control System Fault

What are the visual readings for "properly balanced". In terms of, delta HV/LV at 100% SOC with no loads and how long to achieve at rest on charger? I realize you have a trophy and NMC, so in my case for LiFe and SR/SE. Anyone? (Max/min cell voltage through OBD2 and car scanner)

Should I be worried about the number of used MG4s around at the moment?

Over a year in, 25k km , great car, a few software WTF's, don't really care as it drives so well & as T1 put it its the poverty pack. Given up on under engineered balancing. LIFEPO4 are pretty tolerant for current negatives. Lost interest in updating myself. If it aint really broke, dont fix...

    MG4 51kWh LFP Battery Health

That why I called it an arbitrary benchmarker and is not representative of average voltage either; for my setup NV is at <20%SOC resting. Given that I, V and load are dynamic, SOH can only be definitive with repeat capacity testing. And it can be "massaged" too as people have reported. I am...

Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

Where do you go in carscanner for module max/min Voltage? In data recording it only gives max/min for pack Dashboard?

Diagnostic VDI, VNCI, MDI with MG4

The whole module voltage (multiple cells in series) or cell voltages per module? VDS is not available from engineering screen, right, only via VNCI? And buying access time.

    MG4 51kWh LFP Battery Health

Wow, a lot of effort there. Bravo! Always suspected 3.2V nominal was a generic figure for average voltage. A bit of "fudging" or fuzzy logic going on to keep the battery out of trouble zone and user relatively happy with performance. Then there is what Terry said about nominal voltage being...

SOC vs HV/LV delta and balancing….

That is 123mV moment of finish charging or charging and balancing? That is, exactly when it hits100% or a time period after when balancing is complete? Your balancing method seems to be working well. I googled your model an it appears LiFe blade batteries max cutoff is 3.8V as opposed 3.65V...

SOC vs HV/LV delta and balancing….

Did you do that in real time with carscanner accelerating hard until you got a delta of 90mV @50% soc and then flooring it, or is that from manufacturer? Don't laugh, I have done similar!

    MG4 in Australia

What is the current update for the excite for Au/NZ? Mine is 1100 R05 Has anyone installed essence SW on an excite? I am aware it has been done Trophy to SE. And is there a copy available for R05 in case I want to go back? Just curious.

    Paint peeling off bumper

It is of concern that MG has advertised a lengthy warranty with fish hooks and which it seems to resist honoring, generally across the board, from software updates to faulty hardware. It would be curious to know what budget they have allowed for warranty claims? Every manufacturer has their...

SOC vs HV/LV delta and balancing….

Right! Good to know as I have no experience with NMC. I would not be happy with a cutoff of 3.75V as factory specs for my other LiFePO4 is 3.65V max. BYD builds their own batteries. Perhaps their specs are higher?

SOC vs HV/LV delta and balancing….

The Atto3 is LiFePO4 right? If so, that is a high cell, high voltage cutoff for LiFe. 3.75V suggests its for NMC. "OBC in my car not lowering charging current at 99% it keep charging untill any of cells get to 3,75 volt and then charging stops and battery capacity resets to 100%" Similar to...

Still don't see that you can use that "nominal V" at the top end and get a meaningful result tho.

    MG4 51kWh LFP Battery Health

896Wh for 280Ah is a contrivance just like 3.2V is the same for “average voltage”. If you extracted 896Wh out of a 280Ah battery via wattmeter then recharged it to same "soc", then discharged it at same rate with CC, and the those figures panned out then who am I to argue with 3.2V being...
