Sorry, I wasn’t very clear when I said it crashes. The issue is that the Radio FM/DAB stops working and there’s no volume on any channels. I’ve tried the home button reset and even a full factory reset, but it still won’t play the stations. The only fix I’ve found that works is disconnecting the...
I've managed to get the maps updated. Although Android Auto is always better, for short journeys I do like using the built-in sat nav, so I’m glad I managed to get that upgraded.
Regarding the car version, both MG and the dealer who carried out the service confirmed that R12 is correct for my...
I’ve been doing a bit of digging and found that if I enter my VIN on the MG site, I can download manuals, service manuals, and even access a link to map updates (though I haven’t had any success with the map updates yet).
The interesting part is that the service manual includes a traditional...
Well I think the maps are outdated. 24Q3_EU_20240829032156_n I beleve this to be the latest
Found this MG Document that has a link to download the latest: Link to MG Map Update
It says All MG5 Versions - That said it could be pre facelift MG5 Versions.
Hi all,
I’ve just taken my MG5 facelift UK (24 reg) in for its first service at an MG garage. The car has only done 5,000 miles (so very low), but as I’ve had it a year, I thought it best to get the service done — mainly for a software check/upgrade and to renew the 12-month MG assistance...
Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it must be a fault. I can't believe they didn't add a sensor for a few pence to warn about this.
Very annoying.
I will have to not forget 🙂
Hi all,
I’ve had this happen a few times now on my MG5 facelift EV — I unplug the charging cable, get distracted, and forget to put the rubber seal back in and close the front charging door before driving off.
I’m honestly surprised the car doesn’t give any kind of warning if the charging port...
Sorry missed the replies. Yes it was hard to install. I never installed it myself my local garage installed it and the install took someone almost a full day. Lots of parts to remove and reinstall on the car.
Hi,
Here is the link for the product I purchased. I opted for the version with optional kick sensor.

I love my MG5, but one thing I hated was the boot—it was a pain to close. Whenever I was holding a box, I had to rest it on the rear window ledge while using my other hand to close the boot. No matter how carefully I tried, it always slammed shut.
I found a kit and was a bit sceptical at first...
I'd say most days (apart from today) has been well above 12°C.
I tend to drive with the heating off most of the time as it's not been hot or cold enough to require it running.
The part I haven't thought about is tyres, the car is brand new car so it could be this.
Other than 'testing' sports...
I only get 3.1mile per kWh in my new MG5. I've done over 500miles in mild weather. I'm Starting to think something is off as that seems very low.
Driving type city 30/40 and one motorway of 200 miles at 70.
Mode: comfort
Regeneration mid.
