Hi all,

I’ve had this happen a few times now on my MG5 facelift EV — I unplug the charging cable, get distracted, and forget to put the rubber seal back in and close the front charging door before driving off.

I’m honestly surprised the car doesn’t give any kind of warning if the charging port is left open. If it starts raining, the connector could get soaked. Surely it should flag something on the dash? Unless mine has a fault?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this — or if I’m missing anything.

Thanks

Nope. You get to your destination and only find out if you look at the front of the car.

Or the next morning….😆

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking it must be a fault. I can't believe they didn't add a sensor for a few pence to warn about this.
Very annoying.
I will have to not forget 🙂

Did it lots when I first had the MG5 and it's possible (sshhh) that it contributed to an issue I had with charge port corrosion.
