Most of your points are valid; the display problems, wrt lighting levels, not remembering the drive mode, lane keep assist. The other problems you have mentioned I either haven’t come across or feel my experience is different. Hopefully MG will listen to the main quirks and write a software fix.

You can do it 2 ways 1. Enter the Carson menu and select’Cutom’ or assign a star button to ‘Drive Mode’ where you have to toggle between all the modes to select ‘Custom’

The answer is yes. There are the 2 star buttons which can be set; I have one in drive mode and one in regen mode. Hopefully on a software update they might revert to your setting choice remaining in the boot up memory … we live in hope

The phone display settings, except for sensing lights on, has no effect. I have set my lights on brightness to minimum and the screen appears to be dimmed enough. I shall try it out this evening.

I’m just asking for the setting, like the MG4, to be an option in the Custom setting I don’t want the default removed. Besides driving conditions such as Snow have a setting that ensures the user cannot set 2 or higher.

Why, like the MG4, doesn’t the Drive Mode Custom include the regenerative Braking?😡

My new MGS5 Trophy passenger door mirror doesn’t fold as far as the driver’s. Is this normal?

Yes displays green when taking action to correct or warn you. The amber icon informs you it is off; therefore, when the amber icon is not visible ,it must be active and works as you described ; that is how mine works.

Is this the icon you are talking about(ELK). The amber comes on when ELK off but nothing when on; is how mine works

Mine are electric motor noise only. However on my MG5 it started clicking and I did the same as MG Clive, sprayed with silicone.
