Apple Car Play issue (USB-c connector)

Without wishing to resurrect the 'holy wars' of CarPlay connectivity & cable choice - you do need to ensure the cable you are using is capable of data. Not just power/ charging. Cable should have a specification / claim that it meets USB 3.0 standards

Apple Car Play issue (USB-c connector)

Just tried my iPhone 16 with an USB-A to USB-C cable - worked for me. Unfortunately the cable is unbranded - but I think it was an Anker brand bought from Amazon

Yes, I know - which is why I suggested the article above as a workaround

    Apple carplay?

Didn’t know there was such a thing as high-speed Lightning cable (can’t find a spec for it on Apple’s website - Lightning speed is USB 2.0 I think). CarPlay should work with any Apple MFi certified cable. If you’re using a cable that’s not MFi certified, well……

    Apple carplay?

I did. Eliminated cables quite quickly. Maybe think about what you did? Tried 27 cables and suddenly, miraculously, one worked? Respectfully I suggest it wasn’t the cable then. Perhaps you solved the underlying issue w/o necessarily realising it? Anyhow, as mentioned, great you got it...

Not the cable for most people. Anyhow, glad you got it sorted!

    Apple carplay?

Broken record here - it's nothing much to do with cable length, a speck of fluff, cable manufacturer etc. (yes all can impact if extreme) It's to do with the infotainment system being sufficiently booted to take a CarPlay connection - which takes several seconds. Just ensure the infotainment is...

    Apple carplay?

Just to state (as others already have on here & similar threads) - it's less about the cable (anything from a reputable manufacturer will be fine), and more about giving the infotainment system time to fully boot-up / load. [Updating with Step 0 (with thanks for forum members for their input)...

    Rattles

Rattle from inside driver's door - garage removed inside cover and said some of the absorption material wasn't properly fixed. Hasn't rattled since - thankfully (& fingers crossed)

Range decrease due to cold weather [merged thread]

If you mean that the car power limits above 60 mph/ 100 kph - then that‘s a known fault and you need to get your dealer to apply the latest integrated control management system and battery management firmware updates pronto. Several threads on here about this issue.

    MG4 Power Limiting

Had car in with dealer today. BMS firmware upto date - however 'IMCC' firmware was not. So that was updated. Both the garage tech and I have driven the car without experiencing the power limitation issue since the update. Will continue to monitor. Thank you all for your help.
