Yes. We took the car to an MG garage, it needed a software update and from then onwards we have been able to charge it at all fast chargers we have tried.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Locking the car before confirming the charge didn't work. We have a geniepoint charger near us, so we'll try that one before taking the car anywhere. Very concerned about our trip to France next month now - I'm worried the chargers over there won't like the MG5...

It was definitely turned off. The car starts charging at the slower chargers and our home charger if it is unlocked, so I assume it would charge at the fast charger without being locked. I will tell him to try locking it first though to see if that makes a difference.

It is the first rapid charger we have used, but the car is second hand, so the previous owners may have used one. Zapmap says it is Gridserve.

No not yet (husband is currently stranded 4 hours away with the car waiting for it to slowly charge). I have called our local MG garage but they just said bring it in. I wanted to know (if possible) what the likely problem was before taking it to them.

Hi, We have an MG5 (registered January 2021 but it is a 70 plate) and it will not charge at a fast charger. No problems charging it at home or at a 7kW podpoint charger. We bought this second hand in March and the 90 day warranty is now up. Does anyone have any ideas as to why it will not...
