Hi all Don't ask me how but this was caused by the time on my phone being out of sync with the car. So we reset time on my phone and it all worked. This can be closed now.

Hi there Just to let you know that the red glow around the car image has gone after I started driving from cold. Pity this is not in the owners manual as it could have saved me a lot of angst! Any way thanks for your help. Cheers Ken
