My roof bars and the trim down the doors looks similar if I don’t dry them with a micro fibre cloth after washing them. I presume in my case it’s because my water is very hard so the mineral deposits stick very well. P.S. The rain doesn’t fix it either, not that we’ve had any for a while.

I had a similar experience before (same car) and it was a small bit of stone stuck in the gap between the brake guard and the brake disk. I managed to get it out but sticking my hands through the alloy and flexing the brake guard a bit. Hopefully this is the problem you’re facing.
