Hyundai are a more established brand and I'm not saying it will damage the whole MG brand but could put people off buying the MG 3 especially with articles like the one above recommending people seek an alternative car to the MG 3. Could also impact used values, not an issue if the car is on pcp...
What car go into a bit more detail with quotes from MG and a recommendation to look at alternative cars.
Euro NCAP, Europe’s leading safety testing organisation, has warned consumers to avoid the MG 3 after it suffered a serious safety failure during crash testing.
While it was undergoing the...
MG are a budget brand with a stack em high sell them cheap mentality that is unfortunately reflected in a lot of their dealers and certainly MG UK's attitude.
I remember a while ago a member with an MG 4 contacted MG UK customer services about an issue, they were having no joy getting the issue...
Watched a review of both being done together, my take from it was the IM5 is the better car, feels more planted, more efficient (on the test) rides better and doesn't feel as huge on the road.
Will be interesting to hear real world reviews and whether MG UK can sort themselves out and step up...
The member who constantly calls people trolls and has a pop at anyone who is critical of MG.
More than one member has called him out on his comments and it goes unchecked.
He is a total fan boy and has previous for slagging off numerous new members accusing them of being trolls and continues to have a pop at anyone that is critical of MG, despite numerous complaints he carries on unchecked
What is abundantly clear on this forum is that the bar for crossing the...
It may be worth a read through the X Power vibe thread to get a taste of MG UK's attitude, many owners have tried rejection and failed, using the consumer rights act, hence the group legal case
So the folk saying they have the issue are now liars makes a change from being trolls!
You really do take defending MG to another level.
You are right on one point though most do come to forums to look for answers to faults, they won't if they are happy but according to you they are making it...
I took a test drive in one that was that bad it made my hand tingle after a while from holding the steering wheel.
Not going to lie the acceleration was still fun though even in that one.
They range from that bad to barley noticeable, the problem is that it's a fault and no one knows for sure...
Its just a type of filter you will have it, unfortunately MG support in the UK are worse than useless.
That will not cover two years in the UK I would imagine so it won't be chump change here
It's pretty much the same with the X Power vibe/hum fault, they will not admit it's a fault and have described it as a characteristic, later cars would appear to have been modified in the factory as they don't have the fault.
This has resulted in a group legal case against MG because they won't...
Standard MG UK response, it would appear owners will be left with defective cars and who is going to want a second hand pre fix car.
MG UK are a joke see their responses regards the x power vibes and the numerous issues with early MG 4's
Totally agree mate, wife does similar journeys in hers and initially it wasn't fit for purpose, various fights with dealers for updates and still not great. She is so glad it's a company car!
Some members do not like to hear people being critical and always seem to jump to the MGs defence no...
Point is DVSA shouldn't need to get involved and force anything, MG should do the right thing after that failure.
Pre fix cars will be worth a fraction of what they should be worth and it could impact insurance if they do nothing
I agree re the inspection I'd prefer it done, but AA is roughly £5.50 a month so £90 for a look and a pollen filter.
Cupra is every two years and also includes breakdown cover, they do sting you for the big service though!!
It's an absolute shocker by MG UK not doing a recall on the models already out there on a failure never seen by ncap before in 28 yrs of testing.
Insurance companies could have a field day with this if people get into crashes and get injured, they look for any excuse not to pay out as it is
Quick question, does it feel like a big car, did you take it into any parking areas? It is obviously closer to Tesla model S size than 3 which makes it just short of 5 metres in length which is a fair sized chunk of metal
It would appear not.
Euro NCAP said it had never witnessed a failure of this kind in its 28 years of crash testing.
"MG has promised to tweak the airbag in October, Euro NCAP said. However, the seat and airbag changes won't be applied to 3s that have already been delivered to customers since...
What's more surprising (or not) was it took 2 years to get MG to fix it and the original garage claimed there were no updates.
Shocking service which appears all to common and goes some way to explain why MG came bottom of the pile in the What Car reliability/after sales survey
Appreciate it's the wrong thread but cracking deals on the IM6 on affinity, only draw back to affinity is the finance apr rate compared to the normal one, not a big deal when you look at the discounts
