    Spare wheel

Jock, Have you checked if everything will still work when you reconnect that battery? Let us know the outcome.

    wind and road noise

I know what noisy is from my previous 1500cc MG3s. This Hybrid+ is like a limousine in comparison. - and it goes!

    Hill sensor

I don't think there can be a hill sensor. This stopping only occurs when the central button with the yellow light has been pressed and this holds the car stationary on both up and down slopes so once stopped a brake(s) is applied. With uphill revving this must surely be determined by the...

What car did your MG3 replace ? ??

The best car ever was that Activa - got written off in its prime between two vans. Wish I still had it...

What car did your MG3 replace ? ??

I went through seven Citroens - 1.3 GSA Pallas, 1.6 BX, 2.0 BX, 2.0 Xantia, the fantastic blown 2.0 Xantia Activa, C5, last came an auto deisel C4 Coupe. Then in 2014 came an MG3, (the first non SUV thing from MG - I am an MG nut with two proper British MGs too) - 2018 saw a stop/start MG3, an...

    Contemplating an MG3 Hybrid

So far I have been lucky and not had go up any long hill climbs so have not experienced the seemingly gutless 1.5 litre doing all the work after the HV battery has cried enough. Having had the original ICE MG3 with its pretty smooth 1.5 litre needing to scream up most hills I guess this has to...

Does the stick shift MG3 has Hill Hold?

I had a couple of MG3s (manual of course) between 2014 and 2024 and both had hill hold. They did need a steep enough slope to work, so was never too sure if any slight slope would be enough.

    Mg3hybrid battery going on holiday

Yeap just get and connect a solar cell trickle charger c/w battery crocodile clips to the 12v(!) battery and leave the solar panel sunny side up on the parcel shelf. You can keep a check on the battery using the MG iSmart app. Happy holiday!

12volt battery low on MG3 Hybrid Trophy

We know 12V batteries need 14+volts to charge them but you tend to need and can get "12V" solar cells to charge 12V batteries and surprisingly they will produce around 14V ! Battery conditioners and trickle chargers are also fine but never anything more powerful.

12volt battery low on MG3 Hybrid Trophy

If the car has done some short journeys and it is unlikely to be used for a while, being a low mileage user, parking outside, I find it quite easy to remove the boot 'floor' to connect a 12V solar cell directly to the battery and lay the solar cell on the parcel shelf.

    Ncap fail for mg3 hybrid

Whoopee - I got my recall letter from MG Motor dated 17th November today. What's funny is it was posted on 23rd December and my seat was actually done on 18th December!

    Satnav update

Have this week had the driver's seat issue sorted and asked for any updates to be done while in for the day, to be told there was no sat nav update and no others to be had or needed either. Car itself seems to have performed perfectly since new (May '24) So far have not had any sat nav map...

    Ncap fail for mg3 hybrid

You will not believe it! Have just received a telephone call from Richmond our local Portsmouth MG dealer to say they will carry out this seat runner recall on 18th Dec when I already had it booked in to check on an occasionally stuck window. Apparently, they should even have all the spares to...
