If you live on a hill and the start of your day is driving downhill for a considerable time, you could recharge to about 61km range. This is because if the battery is fully charged, it does not like regenerative charging going downhill, and the ICE engine...
I treat mine like my phone - charge it every day . I have a standard timer on the wall socket which limits charging to off peak or shoulder times , so I don’t end up charging at peak rates. As my daily commute is less than 20km this suits me just fine. I could , at a push , charge every other...
One of the common causes of an unstable connection is forgetting to remove the original Bluetooth connection with your phone . The Head unit then gets confused and tries to connect to your phone direct instead of the Carlinkit Bluetooth. .
Does anyone know what this might be ? I initially thought it was a spot for a boot light in left hand drive vehicles . When I opened it up , there was a loop of cable or wire like a pull toggle . Could be see if there was a wiring socket behind it….
Acceleration time is 6.9 sec to 100kmh. (Near Golf GTI ). I screeched the tires when driving out of the dealership on the test drive.
EV mode is near silent, with a nice soft jet -like whine. So much so when the ICE kicks in , it seems rough in comparison . I...
No doubt that the ICE version will save you money in the long run, unless 99% of your trips are under 63km . But the drive is soooooo much better in the PHEV .
The only annoyance is the flat spot at 80kmh when in pure EV mode . Otherwise it’s a fantastic car and great value for money . The 360 camera and sunroof are worth the extra money for the trophy spec.
The Xpower is not available with the sunroof in Australia. A sad omission I believe, seeing as it would place it in the more upmarket segment. Is it available in any other country?
You will love it ! If you are already used to the slightly clunky MG infotainment system , you will find that the PHeV has superior acceleration to the 1.5 petrol . The only thing you will find annoying is the flat spot in acceleration at around 70-80kmh in pure EV mode due to a gear change ...
I have had AEB save me from at least 2 nasty accidents . That’s about the same number of times I’ve had a false trigger of the AEB , so in balance I am pretty pleased with the performance . Interestingly, from 2025 no new car can be sold in Australia without AEB so we’d better get used to it !
