Very tidy work. That's how I wired mine. Flexible leads and heat shrink keeps all the parts safe. I think I ziptied my resistor in the shrink to the gnd wire to keep it from moving around.
Great work on the 20a plug. I guess it nevertheless won't be safe to run at 7kw for more than a few minutes given the limited grip on the pins in the socket and contact area. I always scratch my head at why the only enlarged pin on a 15A plug is the ground pin. It's why I decided to build mine...
Hi Terry. I had one of the energy meters leftover from another project so I thought I'd add it to the box.
A quick question for you. I couldn't see it in your photos but did you change the 3 pin socket on your adaptor to a 32A one or did it come like that?
Hey Terry. Just finished upgrading my V2L adaptor to 7kW. For those looking to copy, I take no responsibility for your assembly skills etc. Here I included a 32A breaker as an isolator switch. All stranded cable is terminated with bootlace ferrules to address the risk of loose strands causing...
Hey Oz MG4 crew. Is anyone else having trouble with iSmart today? Mine is showing the wrong state of charge this afternoon. It's exactly 20% above the actual charge
Hi David. I'm not sure that the oxidization on the bottom outer shell would cause the leakage in and of itself unless its penetrated the aluminium jackets. If it has penetrated the jackets then its game over anyway. It still remains more likely to be leakage due to oxidization between metal...
I agree with @Coulomb start with an easy module. Flush them with lots of contact cleaner fluid especially around the terminals at the top. Scrub with a plastic brush and try to get under the strapping with something. See how it goes. I'm not so concerned about the bottom of the module but best...
Given how otherwise clean the top of the modules look in the photos I guess the worst of the conductive salts are going to be under the welded on cell link straps. Hopefully you can find something that you can push in under there to help clean it out with the contact cleaner fluid. Might not be...
