I'm not saying these things don't happen but, in over 40 years of driving and an additional few years on motorcycles before that, I have never experienced anything like it. I can't imagine any circumstances in which a vehicle would suddenly apply power itself from being stationary. Everything is...
The cars are tied down on the ships, for obvious reasons, compressing the suspension and putting a lot of stress on the tyres. It's a testament to the modern tyre that they even survive the journey...
I had a racing green mini with a white roof! Long time ago. It was the noisiest and most rattly car I've ever driven and really slow by today's standards - the XPower would be a dot in the distance before the mini was out of second gear. It was freezing cold in the winter and stiflingly hot in...
Yep. Speed limit recognition is pretty bad on the MG4. I turn it off every time I get in the car and keep Waze running. Waze gets it right 99% of the time- the exact opposite of the MG4's performance. It's a great little car let down by pretty awful software.
Mine does that. When I'm pulling up to a junction, if I let the car come to a halt it won't move again for at least a second. It was quite disconcerting the first time it happened but I'm used to it now. No other car I've ever had does this, it's odd. Almost as if someone misplaced a decimal...
My hubs look much much worse than that and I've only had the car 9 months. It's sat outside all the time though, doesn't have the luxury of a nice warm garage. Do you clean yours every week or something?
Maybe a bit of cost cutting showing its ugly face. Charge level doesn't affect power delivery in all EVs. The only thing that seems to affect my performance model Tesla is the battery temperature. When it's hot, after supercharging, the thing takes off like a scalded cat.
I'm still very happy...
Have to wonder if this is anything more than dealerships hanging on to their traditional way of working. ICE's have regular services mainly to change fluids. EV's don't have much that needs changing. I've had my Tesla for nearly two years. It'll tell me when it wants a service, so far not a peep...
That's true but I only have two buttons and I already have them set for other tasks - I use the left button to toggle the cameras on and off and the right one for the driving mode. It seems to me that as the number of functions goes up, the number of controls we get to interact with them goes down.
That's easy to do quickly on a car with a regen level controlled via a switch or paddle on the steering wheel. Not quite so easy on my MG4 with it buried in a menu accessible via the touchscreen and not possible at all on the Tesla. Sometimes I think we're going backwards, taking far too much...
Be careful if you're travelling westbound on Chaffron Way in Milton Keynes today. Some <insert favourite expletive here> has dumped diesel on every roundabout. Sometimes I wish I could punch people I can't see...
If you don't want to use a hose attached to a tap, you can use a portable battery powered pressure washer with a hose fed from a bucket. They're nowhere near as good as the mains powered ones of course, but one of those can work well enough for most people if the car isn't too dirty. And they're...
Whenever I'm asked if I want my car cleaned I ALWAYS say no. Probably be just about ok on a light coloured car but darker paint shows all the swirls and scratches they put on the things. What I've learned over the years is that "it's not their car, they don't care."
Speed limit recognition on my XPower is completely useless. It has no concept of national speed limits, that's 90% of the roads in my area. I turn it off every time I get in the car and rely on actually knowing what the limit is (!) and Waze which is almost always right - so we know it can be...
