I see they do monthly payments for the servicing stuff too, but I'd rather just pay in one go. If you have anything monthly, technically credit like that, it affects your ability to get other loans. Even if it is only £20/month.

I thought I read something about you being able to use other service centres as long as they do it all to MG spec. I don't know if any can actually do that though, at least not around here. Might just have to cough up. It's annoying because they really don't do much for the money.

You mean on the home screen? For me it goes to some other source until AA starts playing. If AA isn't set to pick up where it left off, the home screen goes to some other option. It is a bit annoying.

On Android Auto you can change a setting to have it pick up where it left off automatically. When my phone connects it opens Android Auto automatically anyway, so the play/pause button on the steering wheel works. Is it different for Carplay?

Seems about average. If it's reasonable or not depends on your point of view. They don't do much. Install updates, top up the washer fluid, and do a few checks.

People who have it working, have you enabled data and then for each sub item? From memory there are individual permissions for navigation, voice, and 3rd party apps. I might try disabling the voice and 3rd party as I don't use them.

I'd expect the app to stop working, but the navigation breaking would be very annoying. I'd argue unjustifiable too, because the car was sold with sat nav and there was no mention of it being dependent on MG's good will. Updates, sure, but not for basic functionality. And how about Android...

Makes you wonder what the long term prognosis is. If lack of comms can cause these problems then what happens when the modem goes obsolete like the old 2G and now some 3G ones are? And what happens when MG decide they don't want to maintain the service, or want you to pay for it?

Are you sure about the navigation? Mine has been very slow to open and operate today, and it seems to be worse where there is poor signal.

Thanks Miles. In some ways it's good that they aren't going to change things too much, as long as they fix things like the Bluetooth. Updates promise improvements, but sometimes make things worse.

I suppose it depends what you mean. It's very quiet inside. Not quite German luxury brand quiet, but much better than anything else in the price range and it feels very refined. Something isn't right here. They didn't fight you over it? Didn't deduct mileage? It's different to how everyone else's car works?

Very strange that they didn't push back harder against accepting the car for a refund, or want to check it.

I'm not sure there even are different versions of the software, or maybe it's something to do with how you have the settings, but it definitely doesn't do that in mine. Maybe a fault.

Can you tell us what software version you have? Mine doesn't do that, when the adaptive cruise control turns off in one pedal mode the car coasts until I start using the pedals. It's actually really nice.
