So yesterday my MG5 got carted off to the dealership on the back of an AA van for what appears to be a fault with the charging of the 12v battery. My 21 plate ZS has the 12v battery gauge on dash and that's currently showing just over half full - what are people's experiences with this gauge...

Update to provide closure for those desperate to know how this turned out... I took the pillar panel off but couldn't see the hose so took it through to MG Lancaster where we got the car from and they sorted it FOC - can't argue with that. I'll make sure that I just use proper cold weather...

Good shout. Now we know it works and gives a decent top-up (approx 25% charge) and will be using it quite a bit it'll possibly be worth upgrading the extension to something safer.

Update - plugging the cable into the charger first then the car did the trick. I'm not sure why but her natural instinct was to do car then charger whereas mine would naturally be charged then car unless told otherwise.

Today my partner had a longer than expected drive and wanted to "brim the tank" before setting off using the 3 pin charger but despite being in charge for 8 hrs nothing happened. Is there some trick to it we're unaware of? Points (possibly) worth noting: It was already at 80% when she plugged...

As far as I was aware the 21 model ZS doesn't support pre-heating as there's no app connectivity. Looking through my Project EV charger app it has a pre-heat mode which will basically start to heat the car once the car is charged to 100%. This seems to be a fairly "dumb" pre-heat mode but one...
