    Updated MG iSmart iPhone app

v3.1.3 doesn't change that. Usually, after 10 minutes, my car is quite warm (15-17 °C). Also, re-starting it works fine most of the time. The connection between app and car is just not very reliable.

ABRP with ODB dongle on Cyberster

Sounds reasonable. I subscribed for a year but also only use it while on longer trips. I'll terminate my subscription after the first year and will also only subscribe monthly, when I plan to go on a trip.

ABRP with ODB dongle on Cyberster

Correct, it's more or less a cosmetic issue to see the MG4 in ABRP instead of the Cyberster. The MG4 profile works. Since the consumption of electricity might be a bit different in both cars, the prediction might be a bit wrong. Since the SoC is considered on the road, this doesn't matter much...

ABRP with ODB dongle on Cyberster

Since ABRP v7 is out, I tried again to use the MG Cyberster preset with OBD2 connection. Unfortunately, this still doesn't work. Please upvote my bugreport, to get some attention to it. Currently, only 7 users voted for it, so there's not much attention for it.

    Updated MG iSmart iPhone app

Maybe you should distinguish between the iOS and the Android app. I use the iOS v3.1.3, and it works fine with VPN. Well, as fine as the iSmart app works, which means not very. The response times are terrible and activating the heater especially now in Winter, is a gamble.

    Sound system underwhelming

Someone from the German Cyberster forum had his car upgraded with a DSP amp. I compared it to my Cyberster and his sound was way better. Here's a German video of it.

SAIC2MQTT Bridge - installation on NAS with Traccar feed

I've setup the API access with a second account. My refresh values are: active: 30 afterShutdown: 120 inActive: 86400 inActiveGrac: 600 error: 30 charging: 0 I don't know, if these values are ideal but at least they work for me.

SAIC2MQTT Bridge - installation on NAS with Traccar feed

I really understand you. I'm a decent web programmer but don't know, how to compile Docker images on my own. Docker images are capsuled programs, which run on a server, computer or network attached storage (NAS) like my Synology. If you find something which sounds pretty cool, you still need to...

SAIC2MQTT Bridge - installation on NAS with Traccar feed

I managed to install a SAIC2MQTT bridge as Docker container on my Synology NAS and can now read and write on my smart home system. I also enabled the data feed of the current location to my Traccar server and can view the position of my Cyberster on the map. If you have a NAS with Docker...

ABRP with ODB dongle on Cyberster

I can also recommend the vLinker MC+ dongle. Works fine here with MG4 Long Range config. I also sent a request to ABRP, to include OBD2 for the Cyberster. Now you can already select the Trophy or GT model but will run into an error while setup. I already informed them about missing PID for SoC...

    Seat belt rubs against neck

Looks like that kind of simple things, which make your life easier. Would you print and send to Germany? It's only 1.90 CHF for a 250g letter, which should be enough. If you'd be willing to do it, please send me a pm with account or PayPal data for 2 units. Model file also appreciated, so I can...

    Cyberster Dashcam Success

I won't unplug it again, but here more explanation. In the first photo, you'll see the lights module with two silver clamps facing to the mirror. Place a plastic tool there or just draw it gently down. Second photo shows the plastic cover at the mirror. Just level it from the hole. Both are...

    Cyberster Dashcam Success

I installed my dashcam and used the power from the ceiling light module. This is really nearby and delivers 12V while the car is switched on. My dashcam runs on 12V. If the uses device runs on USB, a current adapter is needed. I documented it on my website at skyynet.de/cyberster in German but...

    Cyberster Dashcam Success

My Blackvue DR900S has a 12V power input. Thus, the Cable is really basic. I just cut the cigarette lighter cable and soldered it to 12V in the car. Since I really like the camera since it's small, great quality, HDR (not supported by current Blyckvue cameras) I'll continue using it in my...

    Cyberster Dashcam Success

Since I intend to install a dashcam, once I receive my Cyberster, I just wonder, why you don't use the power from the ceiling lights. Are they permanently powered? In my current car, it's powered off about 5 min after closing the car. Pretty good for dashcam power. Placing a wire from the fuse...
