Just had a recall on my ZS re the charging breather wire. Assume this is the charging flap gizmo that pulses?

On my MGZS it is turned off permanently- don’t have to switch it off each time.

Thanks for that info, will check why this wasn’t done. Didn’t check as pleased with dealer so far also live in fairly remote rural area and dealers few and far between.

Just had my 5th year service which has cost £275 before VAT - this is four times as much as the 4th year service and the checks are identical. Would like to know where all this extra cost has come from. This is a low mileage service and another thing that puzzles me is that the maintenance...

Weirdly after several weeks of this happening it (so far) has behaved itself. Still no idea as to the reason for the malfunction. It seems it’s a bit like turning a computer off and on again and something sorts itself out? Bit random I know. I don’t entirely trust that it won’t misbehave again...

The video footage seems to show flames initially flaring out of the rear and then engulfing the front offside underneath. This after the initial explosion. I’m not sure I can’t see a faint smoking just before the explosion. The front end is completely burnt out.

Main story on my local news tonight - EV fire with the destruction of a Mercedes and near spread to house. CCTV of the inferno. The reporting bordered on scaremongering and I can imagine people avoiding parking near EVs. No mention of the rarity of this incident.

Interesting, thanks for that. Wonder whether it’s covered by the warranty? At the moment it’s an intermittent fault so I assume could still be caused by this resistor failing? I can still alter the fan speed from hardly noticeable to full blast, it’s just that after an interval it switches off.
