I read in a BYD forum in Australia this morning, that their 12V battery is not great, and fails in winter. That's an Australian winter, so around 4 degrees on a cold night in most places.
So, the basic spec in Australia has a little bit more than the UK, but what could people do to make it more like a Trophy (e.g. rear light bar, better audio, electric seat, rear split spoiler etc).
It would be easy to get seat covers, any colour/two-tone (via dipping... way cheaper than paint)...
Very interesting, thanks. Glad it does have auto A/C.... on their spec sheet here it only adds it to the Essence (Trophy basically).
Agree on Google Maps... although the Tesla maps is pretty good too, so haven't used GM in there.
Orange is only available on the Trophy in the UK iirc.... and...
I threw together a vid on the battle between BYD Dolphin and MG4 now we have the dolphin price.... Like hell it wasn't going to be around $43k until MG4 came out a few days ago at $39k.
Oh, the reason I said "Shots Fired!" In the video is because BYD are releasing the Dolphin pricing in Australia tomorrow, and BYD jumped in with this Excite announcement a few days before and it's now the cheapest EV in Australia....
What will BYD do??? Better be a lot better than the expensive...
Thanks for the replies so far. Looking forward to more.
I did a quickie video tonight about this:
Who cares about passengers and their sound quality? Meh, not me. They should buy their own car :)
Great that the AC can be easily controlled in the Excite.
They included a rear wiper for...
I recommend buying a snapdragon based Xiaomi from AliExpress. I've had a number, and they are brilliant (Redmi Pro, Poco F4)... just get the international version in the flavour (spec) you like.
Well now you'll be happy that the Excite 51 is available. I called MG in Perth and they are expecting the cars in September (not August as written elsewhere).
So, it's being released in Australia in September, and they've just added to the lineup. Originally, only the 'Essence' (pretty much a Trophy) was going to be available, for $48k AUD.
Then, they just said they'll also be bringing in the Excite 51 (51kwh battery) for $39k. And all variants will...
