I think I’ve also only used mine twice in the 2 1/2 years I have had the car. I did take it (in the boot) on a recent weekend away, but didn’t need it. If one needed to use it frequently, under the bonnet would suit, simply because it’s nearer the flap, but I don’t think I, personally, would...
Just to add, the website for issues, settings, updates etc for the mini 5 is 192.168.50.100
I wondered why I couldn’t access the site, but I was using the version for my Carlinkit 3, which was 192.168.50.2
I very seldom do a trip long enough to need public charging, and I know there are various apps to tell you where there are chargers etc. However, it really bugs me that signs for ‘services’ on roads don’t include EV charging.
I am in Suffolk for the weekend, and used the Electroverse app to...
@davast - I think it depends on the cost of the plan, and whether you intend to keep the car for the duration. I bought a 4 year plan with a local (ish) dealer, for £7.45 pcm. I thought it a very good deal, as the breakdown cover is included, though not MOT’s.

Sorry - that wasn’t actually much use!!
@slmorgan42 - I have added my request to Carlinkit for an update. Although I never used (or even knew about) the search feature, now that I do know, I want it to show EVSE’s. Not that filthy petrol and diesel stuff……..🤣
@slmorgan42 - I have checked my new dongle, and it is exactly as you described; petrol stations with dongle, EVSEs with phone. However, how useful EV chargers in Scotland would be for me in Northamptonshire, I wouldn’t like to say!!
@slmorgan42 - I have no idea! I didn’t even know that was an option. I generally use Apple Maps. I have never seen an option to ‘add your car’ nor seen anything on a display for EV charging. I should probably pay more attention to!
@Archev - sending kind thoughts your way. I have also felt this way when visiting places that my darling late husband and I had hoped to see together. It can certainly be bittersweet to carry on with plans, and I have frequently shed tears on these occasions. It helps (a bit) that he...
