My zs ev has just had it's first service.
The software was upgraded from R25 to R27. So it seems more stable and I now have proper icons for radio stations.

I had an SOS call failure and still have as the t box has failed. The dealer knew it as I did from the symptoms but they need to see the car for mg to approve the warranty claim

What other benefits should R27 deliver?

I went from R25 to R27 but cannot tell you what all the benefits are. I can tell you that R27 allows your car to see a multitude of other updates that I've been told makes the car more reliable & robust. Certainly my car runs superbly without issues. Did your car receive all the additional updates that R27 allows? Mine did. Each of the 6 computer modules in the car were updated.

@JohnV6 - do you have the standard or long range ZS version? The reason I ask is that both you and @Data have R27 on your infotainment. Mine was recently updated, but to R25, so I wonder whether R27 only applies to long range cars.

Forgive me for jumping in. I'm not absolutely sure Susanna, but I think your car can go to R27. I base that on a chat with an MG tech who suggested R27 covers all ZS MK2 cars. I guess you will need to speak with your dealer just to be sure. Of course it may be your dealer didn't want to spend longer on the MG computer system to do further updating as he knows this takes significant extra time.

@Data - good point. The dealer I took it to is a new one, much closer to where I live than the one with whom I have my service contract. As I had ‘permission’ from MG to get the infotainment updated due to some issues, I felt I could take the car to any dealer, and in fact I will most likely use them once the service contract ends. I will ask for R27 (and any other updates) when the car goes in for 4th year service in November.

Mine is the LR trophy.

@JohnV6 - thank you for your reply. The garage did tell me that the version (R25) was the latest for my car. So unless someone else with a standard range ZS has R27, the dealer might be correct.

As far as I am aware my car is up to date. It has had at least 3 updates the last one took 1.5 days and it is on R25. That may be because it is the comfort long range version.

Your car is the same as mine except I'm in the UK. Here we are on R27 plus all the extra updates for every other computer module that R27 allows your car to see. On R25 your car cannot see any other updates, of which there are many. I cannot imagine it would be different in Germany. Might be worth asking your dealer about this as there are some really significant system updates that are available.

Don't know why I would need anymore updates, everything works fine I have had no problems at all other than when the the towbar was fitted and I could not stop the reversing sensors bleeping when reverse was selected. They fixed that with an update. I will leave well enough alone, if it works why try to fix it. It wont give me extra range or as far as I can see any extra benefits.
