Seats, interior trim in general, sound system, thin paint, charging flap, all the ergonomics and the buttons, headlights, manual (heavy) tailgate. BUT, we still love our little MG4!
I, too, have had problems of MG fighting the dealership over repairs under warranty on my MG4 Trophy LR that isn't even 2-years old.
I was about to write that this is what you get when buying keenly priced cars with slim profit margins but the same is true of JLR who tend to resist any warranty...
If you can afford it and do not want the hassle then you have your answer.
However, it begs the question of how is it possible in today's car market that a car fails its first MoT (which it would with a duff shock).
Make sure you factor in the lump sum cost of £750 per year to capitalise a solar/battery installation that everyone always forgets …… Also, you never get back the original ‘investment’, something else that everyone always forgets.
You have no ROI because you do not get back the lump sum invested. The costs are still about £500/year plus the amortised capital write off plus inverter replacements. Degradation will almost certainly be more than than 0.5% per year.
They are not minimal. You are also failing to include replacement inverters, around £2,000 each so possibly two inverters for larger installations every 8-10years. Everyone forgets to write off the installation and maintenance costs. The sales people often tell you, "....solar is an investment"...
Not so! My damn MG 4 took off after I stepped out of it, having put it into Park, with the confirmation lights illuminated, and the door open. VW e-Golf had same problem. Very dangerous and impossible to occur with an ICE car. I didn't even get the audible warning of an open door. Dealer's...
Perfectly agree. On this, and other EV forums, several navel-gazers have taken me to task by arguing with me that slowing down as much as possible to use regen was better than driving at a constant speed. Well at least I had Isaac Newton and his three laws of motion on my side.
The biggest unanticipated problem taking any car through a ford is whether or not the car's wiring loom runs through the cills. Most do, and it is this ingress of water that can, over time, rot all the control wires and that is a write-off for the car - ICE and EV.
