I know on my Pixel if I ask for a location and last used HereWeGo it will do a route on that app. I think there's voice in app but can't remember 100%

I think it's an issue with Google maps. I've installed a new maps app called HereWeGo and that's stopped Android Auto running slow

I tried Waze and that was still slow. Here We Go isn't as good as a sat nav as the more established but it does at least work with android auto

If anyone has been having issues with Google Maps running really slow, and that causing Android Auto to also be sluggish, I have had a lot more success with the navigation app HERE We Go HERE WeGo: Maps & Navigation - Apps on Google Play Navigation is not delayed for me using Google Pixel 7...

TomTom amigo is no better. Maybe worse

Just adding in that I'm also having problems. I tried using Waze and navigation has the same problem there. I briefly tried AmiGo from TomTom yesterday and will test that on my work drives today as it seemed better than Google Maps yesterday
