    The SE 1100R38 Infotainment Thread

@siteguru - I had my second service yesterday - unfortunately they didn't update my SE LR infotainment from R33, despite me mentioning at booking in (admitted 5 minutes after initial booking in) and being promised that it would be checked and updated if necessary, but Eden MG Swindon did apply...

    2nd service

@DelBoy Bath MG has quoted £282.34 for second service including brake fluid change. Looks like I'll be booking in at Eden MG Swindon.

    2nd service

@DelBoy My first service on an MG4 SE LR in March 2024 at Bristol North was only £62.01, although my mileage is relatively low. So I was surprised they then quoted £236.30 for the second service - which they said covers changing the pollen filter and key fob batteries, applying any software...

Has Anyone played around with HomeASSISTANT addon for the MG4 ???

@nanomad, @wattmatters or anyone else using the mqtt add on - I set up the mqtt add on in HA the other day and all connected well, but when I was out and about in the car and connected the HA app via wireguard VPN through my Asus router at home to my server, none of the entities for my MG were...

    MG4 - checking/changing fuses

Interestingly, Bath MG checked the fuses today while doing other work and nothing has blown, so they now want to take out the whole centre console to be able to run diagnostics, and may need to replace the console completely - glad it's still in warranty, and that I didn't go to the trouble of...

The MG4 SE 1100R33 Infotainment Thread

At last! After Bath MG had the car today to fit the replacement driver's wing mirror, they applied software updates and I now have ACC shifting in 1mph steps toggling on the left hand joystick. My MCU is still showing as 69.3.8.0 so the update must work on modules that are not listed on the...

The MG4 SE 1100R33 Infotainment Thread

A long delayed update on this - just spoke to Bath MG, who say they applied SCUK001 back in September 2023 (according to the VIN check) - and yet my ACC mph toggle still goes up in 5mph steps rather than 1mph. It's booked in for some work in September so I'll try to insist they check this by...

The MG4 SE 1100R33 Infotainment Thread

OK - that's interesting to know, and probably why my vehicle missed out on the ACC update when it had its service - the VIN check said it didn't need any updates - and Bristol North clearly must not have done the plug in check on top of that. If it's a mandatory update, I could get it done at...

The MG4 SE 1100R33 Infotainment Thread

I used Bristol North for my first service on the SE LR - £62.01 (March 2024) but I'm on low mileage. I managed to convince them to do the infotainment software update but it was a bit of a battle with the receptionist and almost didn't happen - and I'd specifically booked with Bristol North...

    MG4 - checking/changing fuses

Just a plug in USB adaptor - it's been working fine for ages, and at the time I guess it may have shorted, there was only one phone/lead connected. Nothing with a big power draw. The adaptor is still working fine when I tried it in our Skoda Octavia. They didn't seem interested to know anything...

    MG4 - checking/changing fuses

OK, had a look for the passenger compartment fusebox and it's not easily accessible. You have to pry off the driver's side end panel of the dash, undo a load of screws and unclip the cover - very poor design - as shown in this video (at 34:30 if it starts at the wrong place) I think I'm taking...

    MG4 - checking/changing fuses

Thanks - I too don't think any harm will occur if I don't bother to disconnect the negative terminal before I pull a fuse out the board, but the manual says you should.

    MG4 - checking/changing fuses

MG4 - checking/changing fuses The other day I noticed that the 12v socket in the centre console of my MG4 SE LR had stopped working. I'm wondering if it might be that the fuse has blown, so I had a look in the manual and found the info on fuses. My question is, how important is it to disconnect...

    MG4 Software Update Thread

That's correct - the only ones they know about are the main software updates listed for your car's VIN - infotainment is outside this list and hence the dealers are not generally up to speed on the latest versions available etc, and some of them aren't aware that it's just a quick and simple job...
