Yes but, at the moment, the Chinese are just grabbing market share. They are not so worried about profit because the government is basically bankrolling them. That will change once they are established. Then, they will want to make a big profit and the best way to do that is to ramp up prices...
The Chinese are indeed currently doing something similar to the Japanese in the '80s & '90s, where everything was included on the top models and you just chose the colour. However, I am sure that, once they are established as rivals to the (supposed) premium brands, they will start to charge for...
I prefer a matte finish, personally but I don't think I would change it to black anyway. I would like to have the car delivered without the MG and IM6 badges, so it was just left with the two symbols, front and rear.
No, I don't think expensive audio is pointless, unless you a deaf. However, the quality of the source is indeed important, as I mentioned previously. The question is also how much are you willing to pay for a superior system? MG is including a 20 speaker system on a car which can be bought new...
There's no need to stage a massive accident! You only have to go over a high curb and 'damage' the battery pack, for some insurers to write off an EV. I have also seen them written off for what appears to be quite minor panel damage, which would certainly have been fixed in the past. In the 4th...
Reading the detail, it looks well worthwhile on new purchases, particularly for the first few years. I have to say I am very surprised, though, because this kind of policy looks tailor made for people to exploit.
I have used Saga in the past, as they cover use abroad for up to 365 days per year, which is almost impossible to find elsewhere these days. It is for over 50s only, though.
In my experience, in-car audio is usually heavily compromised by external noise. This is where the IM6 should do well, as it has double glazing and a noise cancellation system. However, the perceived quality is always heavily dependent on the quality of the source. There's not much point in a...
If you are a company driver, your company should have been able to obtain this deal. Apart from the initial batch of cars, which had already been built, this offer was available from the start.
What I don't understand is why, following the UK budget, MG doesn't drop the list prices to below...
Yes, for a private buyer, that's a good price. Note that the Launch Edition can be ordered for £43,500 brand new but it has to be registered to a company. The Performance is £39,800 and Long Range £35,300.
What I find strange is that there are no Matrix headlamps or HUD, which are now quite commonplace and no longer so expensive, yet they have fitted four-wheel steering, which is still a very unusual feature and surely a far more expensive one. I had the latter back in 2009, on a Renault Laguna...
The auto-high beam Matrix LEDs on my Volvo are magnificent and they should be on a high spec car like the IM, together with HUD. There is not much missing from the IM spec but there are a few strange omissions.
I had been speaking to the dealer about the Launch Edition but, when he sent me the service costs, he didn't say they were specifically for the LE, rather for the IM6, so I think they are for all variants.
Is anyone thinking of using the IM6 for towing? It has a braked capacity of 1500kg and, like most EVs, should prove very capable with its considerable weight and torque. However, I understand that MG has yet to provide details of an IM6 specific towbar. Ideally, I would like to see an...
