The latest update is that Perrys have discounted their 5y service plan and it's now only £50 more expensive than the one on the MG portal. Apparently the only thing that's different between them, confirmed by Perrys, is that their one includes an aircon freshener every service, where they treat...
Appreciate that, I had to call them and get it confirmed. The quote they gave me was for their service plan but as an MG dealer their plan covers everything the MG one does. It would also get digitally updated on the online service history 👍
This failed to work when I first tried it. Move the boot into the height you want and then push and hold the manual close button until you hear it beep. Then repeat until you hear it beep again. This worked for me 👍
I guess that makes sense but ultimately as soon as the 12v battery goes below a certain voltage it'll cut power to the camera. My thoughts are, IF the internal battery stays fully charged when being powered by the 12v battery while the vehicle is being used, it should last in parking...
From what I've read, the camera will go into standby mode after lack of movement but then fires itself up when motion is detected. It then records for 4-5 minutes on permanent live (30 seconds via it's internal battery) and then returns to standby mode. If this happens a lot it will obviously...
So, Perrys has confirmed the items listed above are with their own service plan and not a designated MG plan albeit what they 'service' fully complies with the MG service/warranty requirements. I've yet to get confirmation from MG as to exactly what their service plan includes but Perrys...
Apparently I'm too far away for them to collect and return the car and there was no mention of a courtesy car or free puncture repairs, these are the little things that would actually sway my decision. As Tesco claims, every little helps 👍
Hi all,
I'm considering the 522GW and rear camera addon and noticed people mentioning about power drain when in parking mode. Having researched this it looks like when parking mode has been activated and it's connected to a power source that turns off when the car is off, such as the USB port...
I'm so glad I saw this thread. I've had my S5 for a few weeks now and only today realised the boot didn't open as high as it did before, even on the high setting. I'll try the manual adjustment instructions and hopefully that'll set it back at a height I don't risk decapitation...
I followed Ian's advice and disabled 'start Android Auto automatically' and that's definitely stopped AA starting up. I didn't see any setting for this within the car's settings though. This morning I reconnected my phone and now I'm able to call someone using the car's call feature however...
Totally agree. That's what I need to check with Perrys, for example, to see if their service plan quote was for 'their' plan or a genuine MG one. It's £150 more over the 5 year plan but that might be justified if they're actually doing more than the MG plan. That's what I need to confirm.
Therein lies my confusion, on the MG portal I can select an MG service plan (fulfilling every aspect of the warranty) and specify Perrys MG as my preferred service provider, yet contacting Perrys direct resulted in a higher service plan cost. I need confirmation from the MG portal of what their...
I'm going to try and play the garage plans off against each other as there are clearly differences between their own service plans and that from the MG portal. Perrys quote, for example, included the following per service:
S1: screen wash
S2: screen wash
pollen filter
brake fluid...
I was told earlier that as it's a monthly payment, if I ever wanted/needed to cancel it then I'd just need to let them know. Any extra that I'd paid would be refunded. Although you're signing in to a 3-5 year 'agreement', you're still only paying monthly.
Hi all,
I'm in the process of setting up a service plan for my new S5EV. For peace of mind I'm favouring the 5 year option. I'm awaiting a response from Glyn Hopkins in Milton Keynes but I had a detailed chat with Perrys in Aylesbury who quoted £1342.33 for 5 services and 3 MOT's. They also...
As stated in my original message:
"Even when clicking either of the Home buttons it either lags or refuses to go to the Home screen."
Obviously it wasn't 'bricked' (apologies for upsetting you) but not being able to return to the home screen or any settings screen to adjust safety settings was...
Thanks Clive. Just read through all 9 pages. I can't believe an impending/downloading update would brick the system, major design/software fault if so. I'll check it again over the next few days and see if I encounter any more issues. I have had an SOS Call fault warning come on once I enter the...
Hi all, hope life's treating you well.
I finally connected my android phone to my S5 and by all intentions it seemed to pair/connect fine, even synchronising contacts etc. The issue however is that every time I get into the car it automatically starts up Android Auto, obviously connecting to my...
