Fitting of beam reflectors to MG5 for driving in Europe

Hi folks,

Has anyone here fitted beam reflectors to their MG5 to prevent dazzling other drivers when in Europe? The fitting instructions don't list our car even though it has been available for around 18 months.

Edit: Aha! I've just noticed that the fitting guide hasn't been updated since March 2021...

The instructions state for cars not listed that you need to take the vehicle in to a garage. If someone here knows which of the fitting diagrams is the correct one for the MG5 then it would be possible to avoid going to my local garage.

This is what MG said when I emailed them:

With regards to your query, you will need to purchase headlight converter stickers for the MG5 EV model when travelling to Europe.

Without running the beams through a garage's beam checker to confirm 100%, I am 99% confident they are not flat.

When driving at night in the MG5 (with dipped beams) it is noticeable that road signs at the side of the road are illuminated even when they are above car height, but when behind a car the beam falls below the rear window.

Happy to be told I'm wrong by someone who knows for certain either way though.

Thanks, I hadn't spotted the phone number previously. Called the number and received really good customer service :)

The car hasn't yet been added to their own internal list, so they have asked me to send them some photos of the headlights to allow the team to assist in the correct placement of the stickers.

I'll report back here once I have more info.
 
A lot of projector headlights can be switched to a flat beam by a lever inside the headlight but from what I've seen this is not possible on the MG5. I'd love to be proved wrong.

I fitted these for out trip to Spain. There aren't instructions for MG5, however there are several drawings for different, standard type headlamps - I followed one of these to fit the deflectors.

I've just heard back from the manufacturers of the beam reflector stickers.

Fitting diagram 114 is the correct position to use. You only need to use the round part of the adaptor.

Edit: They also said they will be adding the MG5 to the next update to the vehicle fitting list. It i likely the list will be updated in Spring 2022.

Very helpful as I just bought some eurolights and noted no listing on the sheet for the MG5. Whilst not getting mine until end of June want to be prepared for our trip to France in August as will be my fist in an EV as have a HS PHEV at the moment.
 
Can they be removed easily without leaving a mess?
