Having just insured my MG5 LR my insurance documents from LV state that it’s a 52kw. The dealership have confirmed that it is a 61kw. I’ve contacted LV who said it’s the only model coming up on their system and that I shouldn’t be concerned about it. However, isn’t this the same as an ICE car being insured as a 1.6 when in fact it’s 2 litre? I can just imagine when I have a claim they will say my policy is invalid as the details were incorrect.
Anyone else had this issue?

I had the same with a different insurer (maybe the AA). I'd def put it as a LR but the paperwork said 52kWh.

They had to speak to the underwriter to get the change approved, then re-issue the paperwork.

The call nearly ended with them saying "On this occasion we will not charge you for the alteration", but ended when I said "I should think not, it's you problem, not mine!!

Not sure if I should push it with them a bit more to make sure it’s right - or at least get something in writing to confirm they will cover me. Just a bit uncomfortable knowing it’s not right.

Weird. I am with LV and insured my MG5 at the end of June, but my policy states 61kwh. You had me worried so I had to go check.

Thanks for that information. I’ll get onto them again tomorrow. Unfortunately, I haven’t got the documents from the dealership / DVLA yet so I only have the dealerships say so that it is 61kw. Haven’t been able to find anything around the vehicle to confirm it.

Definitely worth sorting. The LR is several insurance groups lower than the SR due to the extra safety kit.

Please let us know how you get on.

Hi
If it’s got mg pilot I.e.
Camera in windscreen
Radar in the lower front bumper
and blue ends to the stalks on the steering column
It is a long range
😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sounds like a bit of a cop out to say it's all that comes up, I have a long range exclusive with LV and changed it online, I had to select the model myself as it was brand new but the right spec came up.

Just off the phone to LV re my insurance policy showing 52kw instead of 61kw. (MG5 LR Exclusive). Very nice lady said the 61kw was on the list and couldn’t understand why her colleagues had been unable to find it. Documents will be amended at no charge. Apparently, there is no difference in the premiums between the two models.

When I got my LR it was one of the first batch and wasn't in their system either by numberplate or model.
They insured it as a SR and put an explicit note on the system about the model. I then (unexpectedly) got a refund check in the post about 6 weeks later when they updated the model on their system and it dropped the insurance groups without me having to do anything.
