Upgrade opportunity

It's because the MG4 is an 'in house' design/build.

The ZS is partly based on the Mk1 Vauxhall/Opel Mokka and therefore uses parts from that car. Having spoken to my lady 'in the know', SAIC are struggling to get wiring harnesses/chips to the required spec.

Shurely the ZS wiring harnesses have "evolved" since a 2015 vauxhall mokka?

I think there China made anyway?

I was told a few years ago vauxhall Mokka was made in South Korea well the wiring harness any way but can't remember where I heard this info🤔

I know. How come they have chips to build mg4, and people have been waiting nearly a year for their zs evs, be abuse of a chip shortage.
Different chips and a different region of China where they are built. We waited just 11 weeks for our ZS Trophy LR. Short wait due to selecting white and not wanting the connect.
Thanks for that, I didn't know, thought it was solely down to the chips.
A lot of wiring harnesses were made in the Ukraine so the supply chain broke down due to the Russian invasion. Saic had to find another manufacturer for the harnesses they required that were previously made in the war zone.
