My Trophy Connect ZS suddenly decided to put itself into tow mode today. This was a surprise as I only noticed by accident a few weeks ago that such a mode existed....never touched it.

I have spent a lot of time pressing this and that to release me from the grip of the said mode - dread to think what I have changed- but no joy. Rang my garage who have gone of to investigate but clearly have no idea either as they havent rung back as yet. Any ideas apart from application of a big hammer?

What does towing mode do I was under the impression it just switches off the parking sensors and rear cross traffic radar?

Not sure if you have to have a towbar fitted to be able to turn it off or on. My car is at the dealers today to have the towbar fitted, will let you know when I get it back if I can turn it 'off' and 'on'.

I'm having the same problem. The towing mode will not turn off. I don't have a towbar. PDC is disabled automatically. The earliest appointment at my dealership is not till 12th April. It's so annoying. The car display screen shows the message of towing mode constantly. If I click Cancel, it comes back up after a minute. I can't imagine driving like that for the next month 😳

Car back with tow bar fitted. Don't see the towing mode entry on my display at all. Will test out next week by mounting the bike carrier, see if I get anything on display. Reversing camera and parking sensors work as they should.

I had the same problem with my car. The only way to fix this problem is to reset the infotainment system to factory settings. After reset the problem is solved. The reset takes 5 - 10 minutes.

There will be a small "pin" in the tow connector, this is being depressed when the trailer plug is inserted

If this part fails, gets stuck or something like that, it might signal to the car something is connected, even if there is nothing connected.

Factory reset does not fix it. Neither does disconnecting 12v battery. The battery option does however fix the radio not playing problem also known as the Udisk failure problem.
