The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

How many laps is that? :)
Good luck finding chargers that work ok. We are on our third long distance run and all ok for the first 200 miles but the nearer to London the more out of use chargers can be found! Keep up to date with the chat features for each machine where you plan to stop for the latest data

End of the month and the year!
I'd expected a bigger drop this month but ambient temperature has probably been above normal for this time of the year (at least on the days I was using the car). I've actually been running in default mode for December (Normal Mode and KERS2) because I wanted to give the brakes a little more to do so the baseline is very slightly different to my usual setup of Normal Mode and KERS3. Heating has been permanently set at 20°C.

Are you guys driving with the heating off? I set the cruise control to 65mph and got 2.8 m/kwh. M11 from Stansted to Cambridge North so a bit uphill on one way. I had the Missus and my son in the car so was very much behaving myself. It was wet and dark but I can't see wipers and LED lights knocking that much off. I had the heating set to 22°c and the wife had the heated seat on.

I rarely have the heating on and mostly drive with the window open weather permitting . I use the heated seat when it's really cold . In my last car , the heated steering wheel was luxury , I really miss that . I only use the heating to demist the windscreen generally switching it on as needed . It was almost permanently on during the first week of December else I'd be driving blind . During that week my figures were about 3.2 m/kwh , probably just as much due to the HV battery's dislike of negative temperatures

Why do you rarely have the heating on ? Is it some kind of challenge or do you simply like being cold ?
It's permanently on in mine during cold weather. Keeps the screen clear and me and the missus cosy. I also have the heating on indoors too.
:)

Not a challenge , I just don't feel the cold that much . Also having the window open a little staves off a misting windscreen to an extent . If it starts to fog I give it a burst of heat . I'm comfortable that way until it gets to freezing . Anything above 6C is Summer in Wales ;) . Or are we just tough ? Not Geordie tough though , we will wear T Shirts in the snow :)

Less miles this month (thanks Covid!) and gradual increase from 3.0 to average 3.3 by the end.
