hi everyone,

After 2.5 happy years with MG5, I'm looking at changing to ID3 77kwh (just for this extra bit of range). I was considering MG4 extended range as well, but VW seems to be a little bit more efficient, and also I can get 21 or 71 plate for 25k, as with MG4 we are looking at minimum 30. My question is, did anyone do opposite, switched ID3 to MG5/4 and if so, what is the impression? Thanks!

"why not go tesla?"

You can get ID3 cheaper, but also i quite like the inconspicuous look of ID3, and it's a little bit smaller than tesla, and since we don't need a big car it seems like a good choice... Is Tesla considerably better choice in your opinion?

The big attraction with the Tesla is the plentiful supply of reliable super chargers of course.
Yes - Of course Tesla is opening up more of their units to the non Tesla owners and I think they will keep going !.
But if you are not covering large distances, then this may not be a big factor in your decision making.
Having owned a number of VW’s over the years, I believe that the build quality to be very good.
But the ID3 has come under a lot of criticism by loyal VW owners.
Especially in regards to the interior quality / fit and finish.
Software glitches have been an issue also.
The later models have improved though in this regard.
The MG5 is an estate car with a huge area of space that can be accessed.
The ID3 has a much smaller space in comparison.

Many thanks for your input, you are not making it easy for me! The thing is, going Tesla is 5k more on similar plate/mileage car, and since we are taking 25k car, it is quite of a hike...

These are not a deal breakers to me, but i think I will keep an eye on Tesla website, since the new highland model 3 hit the market, maybe it's possible to get a bargain on pre-facelift LR model 3...
