On 3 occasions now, I've nudged the Cruise Control lever forward, the way I tend to disengage ACC, but it's taken up to 10 seconds before it's actually disengaged!

By that I mean the car carries on at the speed set (70mph), without slowing down, despite going slightly up hill. Also, the regenerative brakes aren't activating (which are set to level 3), which normally kick in immediately.

Anyone else had this? I'm kind of concerned after the stories of the Scottish guy, and whether there was an element of truth to the story after all?!

It happens if the car is adjusting the speed to the car in front. You need to tap the accelerator pedal to get it to engage. Another bit of MG poor programming.

I maybe wrong, but aren't you talking about getting the ACC to re-engage when there's a car in front moving on in slow traffic, whereas my issue is that I'm driving along at 70mph, and the ACC won't disengage. I.e. it continues on at 70mph, no sign of it slowing down.

No. Watch your % Power meter, if it's on 0 when you disengage ACC, the radar will have latched on to a vehicle in front, regardless of the speed. If the vehicle in front maintains that speed or reduces speed, the ACC will still react. Only when the vehicle in front accelerates will the radar unlatch, or unless you touch the accelerator pedal.

I have never noticed that on my Gen1, it always disengages ACC immediately, although I do push the lever down rather than forward.
Isn’t push forward to resume?

Oh. That's weird behavior. Okay, thanks. Will keep an eye on it next time. I also had refusal from the car to turn on the ACC the other day, with a red warning triangle and exclamation mark. Is this another glitch? Or a problem?

Push forward to disengage and pull forward to resume in the Gen2.
If this is common on the Gen2, it makes you wonder if that's what Scottish guy experienced, and then blew it out of proportion. I suppose if you coincidentally had brake failure, and didn't know the car...

That happens if there is condensation on the windscreen cameras. It usually clears when the condensation does.

No issues in 26,000kms so far. Will report back if there are any issues.

Only design flaw I can find is I can't lift the windscreen wipers up with the bonnet closed.

It's a feature rather than a flaw!
Turn the car off then flick the wiper stalk down once and the wipers will move to a vertical position allowing them to be lifted.
My old Volt had the same "feature".

I have deleted a lot of posts in this thread.
A post by DMUK reporting the result of an incident which would prove very serious but without any details or evidence. All the replies in the subsequent discussion have also been deleted because, out of context, they make no sense.
Reports of extreme, serious events are not censored in this forum, but will, by their nature need supporting evidence.
In a similar way to posting in an atheist forum that you personally saw God the other day but can't post about it until the evidence has been gathered, the resulting hoo-haa and pointless, wild speculation would be good for site traffic, but actually do nothing for furthering the truth of the event.

It's not unusual for a forum admin to demand evidence to support a serious claim or allegation. We've operated that policy over at AVForums for nearly two decades.

So, @DMUK, when you can talk in detail about the events you write happened to and can provide supporting evidence, then it will be welcome here to inform readers.
Until then, please refrain from posting about it.
Thanks.
