The Ultimate MG5 "Real World" Energy Consumption Thread

Better than expected this month as the car wasn't used much on the coldest days. Graph will be posted later.

I forgot to get an end of month photo....since October :)

BUT since the start of October Ive done 4,326 miles using 1464.3KwH at a cost of £111.92. I have used some public chargers but the miles they provided will be negligible so wont impact the cost that much.

This makes it 2.5p a mile which I am very happy with considering my mini, that the MG5 replaced, was costing me north of 20p a mile!

Ok, thats just energy usage and doesnt take in to account the £31k price difference between the two cars BUUUUUT this also doesnt take in to account that my work insurance also covers my 17yo daughter for driving the car (and saves us buku dollars on insuring her to drive!) and so on :)

So all in all...one happy camper :)

The default in Wales now ( allegedly ;) ) is 20 mph . Though there was a 120 mile round trip to Bristle in that of which a 100 miles is motorway
 
I took a wee jaunt to IKEA in Edinburgh today. The weather was fine, a bit cloudy, and around 12 degrees C. I picked up the stuff I wanted and had a beautiful lunch of salmon, creamy dill sauce with rice and veggies. The M9 / M8 motorways and the A720 city bypass were a bit busy but allowed 55ish mph all the way. As I came off the M9 on the return I noticed the car was averaging 5.4 mi/kWh. P
I’m assuming it was the dill sauce on the salmon that enhanced the figure - yon meatballs and sauce would have caused excessive drag I’m convinced 😜

Notwithstanding the fact that February bucked the trend, it's a bit of a mystery. I have not made any conscious effort to maximise efficiency so I can only conclude that over time, I've progressively become more in tune with the way the car behaves.
