The nearside rear door on my HS PHEV, (6 months old), will not open from inside. The Child Lock is not engaged. Any advice please. I tried to book an appointment with my local dealer, Richmond MG, Portsmouth to be told the earliest available date was early January. They also implied they might not service my car as I did not buy it from them, (they could not supply the car I wanted). I have complained to MG. Have others encountered this sort of poor service from dealers?

you have to put the car in P (park) when you want to open from the inside, otherwise it will not open.

Not sure if related, but in the last six months a lot of ZS EV owners have had the same problem, of not being able to open various doors from the inside.
A family members car had the same problem on collection day.
The front passengers door would not open from the inside.
The problem was rectified by replacing the internal door lock of the car.
Four weeks later the rear passengers door would not open also.
Again, the locking mechanism was replaced.
Others on the forum have reported the same issue.
A bad batch of locks I suspect.
Regarding the warranty, you should be able to take your car to ANY official MG dealer to have the warranty work carried out.
If the dealer refuses look at the car I would call MG customer services as they have an obligation under the MG franchise.
But I think under these circumstances I would be unwilling to use their services anyway !.

Thanks for this. The dealer concerned has confirmed they will service my car and that they are urgently trying to expand their servicing capacity. I have complained to MG as I suspect the root of the problem is insufficient dealers.

The car is in P with the engine off.
I had the same issue with the front and rear near side locks. In both cases Mg replaced the actuators under warranty and this fixed the issue, this is a known issue across certainly the ZS and hs vehicles. The garage said they are replacing these all the time,

Interesting. My car is booked in for its 1st service next week and I have asked them to look at the rear door lock problem and DAB issue. Fingers crossed!
