MG ZS EV FAULT

Hi everyone, I turned on my MG SZ EV 71 plate this morning to have it flash up with a major control fault. After MG Assist came, they got it started but 2 hours later, it's already flashed up again. MG Basildon and Southend have given me 22nd April or 17th May as a repair date but this is my main source of transportation and I'm not anywhere near a bus or train station. To say the least, I'm stressed! Anyone had an experience and know what my rights are and what I can do?
 
Can you take a picture of the fault message? I assume you have tried turning it on and off again and tried disconnecting the 12V battery for a while?

Hi Steve, thanks for your reply. It said "Major control system fault". Yes, it's been turned on and off and had the battery disconnected by MG Assist/AA.
 
I purchased our ZS from Basildon. I would not go back for the service after they really muck up a software install.

Try what @MG steve said above, disconnecting the 12v battery for a while. If that does not fix it, try Perkins of Rayne. Took it there for 3 services and 1 mot before we sold it.

Do you know if Perkins of Rayne are a MG provider as we believe this should be repaired for free under warranty.

We brought the vehicle used in November so I believe we still have some consumer rights. I'm going to call tomorrow

Yes, MG dealer. Service department is great.
 
Just as an aside, any garage can do warranty repairs if they follow MG's guidlines and use OEM parts. Although, not all garages will do EV repairs.

Yes! I gave MG Basildon a hard time this morning and they managed to get it in. I've been given a brand new MG5 EV as a courtesy so I have a way to get around so that's the best case scenario for now. I think it'll at least be a few weeks until I get it back.
