Hi All

I'm 1 week into my new (well used) ZS MK1, so far loving it.

I travel 13 miles to work everyday I've noticed that the predictive range at the start and end of the journey reduces by around 20 miles. Im set in eco mode, regen on 3 and I don't have the HVAC on. This is the same on the return journey? So im losing around 14-15 miles on this journey.

I'm constantly getting around 3.5 reading on the miles per kWh.

I know this doesn't sound a lot but just wanted to check is this normal?

Any advice welcome.

3.5 is a bit low, you should try to get about 4.0, or more.
Maybe go slower, this makes a big difference.
But the predictive range is called Guess-o-meter, for good reason.

I'm also new on second hand ZS and it seems random, just drive gently and the range will be better. Maybe you have Aircon on? Is your commute on a faster side on A road or motorway?

Hi

Thanks for your reply, it's mainly country lanes AVG speed of around 35.

I'll give it a go with HVAC on?

Thanks

Thanks for your reply, I may have a bit of a heavy right foot😂

Reset your mileage trip computer as it sounds like the previous owners driving conditions are better than current hence range is dropping.

As an example, the same 3 mile journey into town in the early hours of the morning at a constant 30 mph, traffic lights all on green, I can get 4.5 m/kWh. In normal hours, with traffic and variable traffic lights, I get between 3.2 and 3.5 m/kWh.

It's the acceleration that kills efficiency.

Just enjoy the car with all of its bells and whistles.

Don't worry too much about miles per Kw etc, your journey is short, so efficiency as such is not an issue.

Advice is good, but don't get hung up on it. As summer approaches, and temperatures rise, your m/kw will rise significantly anyway...:)

In my MG5LR I went to a garden centre in Livingston on Wednesday - about 12 miles by crow.
The cars range was ? Adequate?
I’m at about 65 metres altitude, the garden centre more or less the same and between lies the Bathgate hills with roads rising to around 300 metres.
On the M9 / M8 motorways that’s 31 minutes and about 20 miles driving / range
Going round the western side of the hills is similarly reasonably level and about 32 minutes and 15 miles of driving / range
On the return I took all the wee b and unclassified hill roads more or less straight over the hills actual 13 miles. The beautiful views made me forget about the time and I dawdled and the car regened to the extent that I got home having used less than 8 miles of range.
The coffee was excellent and I got a free alpine plant.

Part of the enjoyment for me is in any set of conditions getting the maximum mile's per kWh. Its a little competition I set myself. It annoys me when the wife's using it and drags it down!

Hi. I got my Mk1 ZS about a month ago and I'm getting exactly the same 3.5kw in same conditions. It did go to 4.5 once but I have no idea what I did differently.
I found that I now just go with it and don't really look at that anymore.
What did seem to help was when my son, who is a long term EV user, told me to 100% charge it using the granny charger to allow the batteries to calibrate ( or something like that). Low and behold, I seem to get a slightly better range.
Give it a go.
