Looks a bit long to my eye, but the first 'real' rival to the X Power I reckon.

Front end looks Tesla model 3, rear Honda civic - middle X-power. What a confusing combo!

Only 2wd though so no concerns on the 0-60 lol

BYD Ocean-M could be a Golf GTI-rivalling EV hot hatchback

£22k would be unbelievable pricing. Step up to 4WD could easily be sub-£30k.

Just think what 6 months of depreciation could bring that down to!

Well if it's anything like my bloody X Powers depreciation, £6.50 (in cash) a slightly bitey 1 year old staffy and a bag of luke warm chips.

Bargain!🤣

It's a very good job "we" have decided that we are in it for the long term.

Still not a direct rival to the X Power. And neither is the I.D3 GTX they've both "only"
got just over 300bhp, and are'nt 4WD. And £22k is domestic market pricing. 🤔

I purposely havent looked at depreciation. Like yourself. I love my x power & aint selling it so it’s irrelevant 👍

I like the “look” of it, as in the sporty body kit & wheels, although the side skirt kick ups will get in the way of rear passengers. Personally I think the x power should have had a body kit as standard. That said I love my “poundland porsche” 🤪

Interesting point.

Mind you for depreciation to kick in we need some 'Must have it nows' to do the deed and buy them in the first place.

As far as I can see either MG or the Dealer network have subsidised X-Power sales as any cars here (NI) are ex-demos and are going no where ATM except down in price.

Anyone remember the Vel Satis or Avantime, it was a running joke the only cars sold in the UK were bought as dealer demos.

When does the Cyberster launch, sooner it does the sooner the first will start depreciating to a level I can afford 😁

It can be ordered now, reportedly first year production (1,500) already nearly sold out, demonstrators with dealers in July, first deliveries in Aug/Sep.

LoL will they depreciate much before they actually launch I wonder.

I've never ordered a car in my life, stock is where the discounts are.

From your post I'd assume launch is Aug/Sep so unless they do a GR Yaris stunt where they had good orders which were subsquently cancelled before starting off below list then rocketed above list I have to wait at least 12 months to snatch a bargain.

They are apparently keeping volumes very low, so I think all bets are off with secondhand values, we will have to see.

Yes don't be fooled by the super low $28000 in China. I was toying with waiting for the MG9 but you can bank on it being around £60,000 for the twin motor by the time it reaches our outlets and at the end of the day they're all getting just too big, check out the Xiaomi SU7, IM LS6 and by the looks of it this new concept BYD. I wouldn't want to go bigger than our beloved XP, forget about depreciation and just enjoy it. For me it's the best of its type I've ever driven let alone owned.
Don't you just love it when you go to overtake, you get alongside, the driver puts the foot down and you just leave them for dead, just a spot in the mirrors. But seriously this car driven sensibly is so safe, all of us with any experience have been left in the middle of the road, that instant power gives you the chance to get out of trouble, what a car - just love it!
