This is purely a guess, but given the performance on offer, I'd expect groups 45-50. Jaguar i-pace is group 49 for comparison

Early days. I can imagine based on the performance of the AWD and value. Possibly lower group 50. RWD a bit lower like 40 something

And for cars that don't make it to registration by April 2025 there will be the extra VED to pay, this year it is £590 instead of £180 for 12 months.
For insurance an XPower is group 40 and it shares body panels with other MG4's so in theory cheaper/easier to repair bodywork damage.

But a 2 seater for some reason adds a premium. Whereas an Audi TT with useless backseats reduces insurance.
