    MG4 First Impressions...err Foibles

The crazy thing is you can have two cars, each with identical hardware and software, and only one of the two cars may actually display a particular fault or 'bug'. Software related issues can thus be time consuming and challenging to fix. At the end of the day, dealers are not software...

    What happens to rejected cars?

My understanding is that you can reject a car after 30 days if a) the faults were not reasonably apparent within the 30 day period and/or b) the dealer has been procrastinating/time-delaying (eg with the promise of repairs or deferred appointments to attend to the fault(s) which never...

    What happens to rejected cars?

Rejecting a car can be stressful, particularly if the dealer proves resistant. You can get a lawyer to handle the rejection process for you, although, of course, this won't be costless.

Aero covers are damaging my alloys

Unfortunately, the finish on the alloys is probably quite soft and the more you remove and replace the covers the more scope there is for damage given that installing the covers securely can't be achieved without a certain amount of 'slam'. I have experienced this issue on other cars that use...

11kw 3 phase charging ion UK Trophy

Newbie question: Are the 3 phase chargers clearly labelled as such (so you know what you're dealing with)?

    Rear visibility in wet weather

I'm going to give the RainX another chance using Crawfyp's technique - it would be great to get it to work and I certainly don't doubt that he's had good results. RainX does seem to come in a number of forms (aerosol, trigger bottle, squeeze bottle original, 2 in 1 cleaner/treatment etc.) and...

    MG4 Good Range Today

That's pretty good! Bodes well for the range when the weather eventually warms up again.

    Tyre Pressures

This is a common issue but can be readily solved by buying a valve extender - basically a narrower piece that fits onto the tyre valve on to which you then put the pump. They come in a myriad of configurations.

    Rear visibility in wet weather

I've also used RainX to little effect. The issue is worst around town, in congested stop go driving where there is just not enough airflow to shift the H20, Rain-X or not. Not such a problem at higher speeds.

    New MG4 Shipment?

It would probably be better if MG were to do just that before handing over the cars to customers. No one wants to pick up a car and discover oil leaks, tray bulges etc and have to go through the stress of a warranty claim. There are no doubt customers out there blissfully unaware of the issues...

    MG4 service plan

I assume these service plans only cover routine service items? So if the service inspection were to reveal something non routine needed doing (eg replacing a warped brake rotor say), would you be expected to stump up even more (or hope it would be covered by the warranty)? Dealers are masters...

    Panoramic Roof

Let's be grateful they never thought to bring that exterior pink colour to our market.

    The MG Rant Thread

I sympathise with your experience - I'd be peed off too. Many dealers are guilty of this sort of thing when they are trying to offload cars. But don't let it taint your experience with the MG4, which has an awful lot going for it. 'This too shall pass' and all that.

Body coloured door plastic - mockup. Thoughts?

The painted sills in your photo do look quite good and make the car look more like a conventional hatchback though a few more profile views would be needed to confirm this. You would need some technical advice as to whether the painted plastic would be more resistant to scuffing - if the paint...
