    Battery health after 1 year?

I've corrected it now. - I think when I set the profile up, there was a single option for the MG4. Was it split into multiple options with the default being SE SR? Yes. I'm reasonably satisfied with them, but I'm quite low maintenance and tend not to complain. - For instance, I've lived for 12...

    Battery health after 1 year?

I had my first service yesterday, Trophy LR 8,350 miles, the Battery SOH on the Maintenance Check Sheet they gave me is shown as 10066% - I doubt that's correct ;) I did get a software upgrade which was technically described as "The big one", no idea what it really included except that I did...

    OVO Charge Anytime tariff reduction

You’re credited the difference between the standard tariff and 7p, so you will be credited an additional 3p per kWh from tomorrow. You only pay full tariff if you need to override the “best time to charge” and do a boost charge to add the charge as soon as possible.

    OVO Charge Anytime tariff reduction

I have just received an email from OVO advising that from tomorrow (1st November), the price per kWh on their Charge Anytime was being reduced from 10p to 7p. Unlike most other EV tariffs, the standard price per kWh for daytime use is not adjusted, and only power that goes through the wall box...

August sales and Octopus Intelligent lobbying!

An issue that any manufacturer has when they publish an API is that they must then maintain it and support it, ensuring backwards compatibility when new versions of the API are released etc. This creates an overhead in terms of support costs and can also restrict enhancements opportunities. This...

MG4 support for smart tariffs and charger integration

Back in April I contacted Ohme and asked about API support for the MG4. I got a fairly swift response of “it’s part of the plans, but no date yet “

    Autohold on MG 4 ?

When you come to a stop, give the brake pedal a bit of a hard press until the A inside a circle in the centre of the driver’s display goes green. Edit: or maybe it’s a P 😀

    Dashboard messages

I’ve assumed (maybe incorrectly) that when a message appears for a very short time, that the error was either transitory or a false detection that was not present on the next scan of the system. So if the message doesn’t remain on screen, there’s nothing to worry about.

    Dead MG4 This Morning

Rolfe, if you’re away for more than a week, then the car will have gone to sleep and won’t respond to the status request.

Cruise fault since a software upgrade

As Ian says, it looks like the setting has been changed from ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) to TJA (Traffic Jam Assist). With TJA as well as matching the speed of the car in front it also steers the car to follow it. I've tried it once or maybe twice, but I blinked first and applied the brake...

    Holiday parking

Were you unable to check the car’s status throughout the holiday or did it respond for about a week before the check failed? it seems to be a commonly reported problem that the car goes into a deeper sleep after a week and stops responding to status checks.

    MG4 X-Power waiting area

I came to exactly the same conclusion. The size of the wiper is limited by the depth of the window. It will serve very little purpose. The designers knew this and the bean counters were happy to save on the expense of fitting one. But the customer feedback was that a wiper is wanted, so a wiper...

    iSMART app v1.1.2 available

There is an option in the iOS version, My Profile -> About -> Update, which then says the App is up to date, which it is, I suppose I’ll need to wait for the next update to find out if it actually works.

    Emergency Exit Instructions

The emergency key inside the fob also has a fold out thin blade that looks as if it’s been provided specifically to open the boot from the inside. As shown in the picture it doesn’t fully fold out, but stops at about 135 degrees, this makes doing the small twist needed slightly easier. Edit...

Owners Manual Rev 2 updates - Beware!

As there is neither a jack nor a spare wheel with the MG4, changing a wheel is not an end user activity, so it makes sense to not publish the information.

New MG4 Trophy, feedback after 2 weeks

The about 5 degree offset between the displayed temperature and the actual temperature is a commonly reported problem. Indeed I don’t recall seeing an “it’s okay for me” posting.

    Intelligent Battery Heating

Thanks Carl, I did some testing, started the car, turned battery heating off. Then powered off the car using the infotainment screen. Restarted the car and battery heating was back on again. - I was seated with the seat belt fastened throughout.

    Intelligent Battery Heating

Carl, can you report back as to whether your battery heating remains off or whether you need to turn it off again tomorrow. Thanks

    Intelligent Battery Heating

By “on”, I mean that the slide switch at the bottom right of the battery charging screen is across to the right and green. I then slide it left at the start of each journey. (So, I suppose I mean that the “intelligent” bit is on, not that the heater is actually on)

    Intelligent Battery Heating

Does anyone else have a problem with Intelligent Battery Heating resetting to “On”? I was only getting 2 miles per kWh for about the first 10 miles when the ambient temperature was between 0 and 10 degrees. I turned IBH off (in the battery charging tab, as described above) and got much improved...
