    Back Seat Fold Muppetry

It does. The lug positions are between 1/4 and 1/3 of the squab length in from each end. A sharp tug did the trick for me. There are electric cable joints to be disconnected at each end before you can lift out the seat.

    Overall Average miles/kWh

My previous car, a VW ID.4, gave its most efficient performance when in Sport mode, which did not seem logical to me. I've had my MG5 SE for 2 weeks now and have done 900 miles of varied motorway, A-road and town driving, trying out each of the Eco, Comfort and Sport modes. With the exception...

    Back Seat Fold Muppetry

I simply could not have taken the squab out without disconnections. Is yours a pre-facelift MG5? Inn mine, there are cables either side and one attached to the squab. Didn't have the hinges popping out but will watch out for that next time I remove the squab.

    Back Seat Fold Muppetry

Thanks for the tip on how to remove the rear squab, I tested it out today (i'll need to do this at the end of April for a long return trip Orkney to Northampton to pick up my son and all his gear - including a bike and a humungous telly). The lugs came away from the retaining holes no problem...

My boot rattles like it's catching when I close it.

I have the same when closing the boot. I think it's the hinged plastic flap that protects the catch making the noise. I tried supporting the boot lid while lowering it so that it's a gentle closure, it just latched closed smoothly with no noise.

MG5 Trophy Real World Consumption Thread

So, from that academic paper, our MG5 battery performance drops off below 15C and above 35C. Who knew? Well, pretty much everyone on this forum, I'd guess! This forum does a great job of informing newbies to the MG5, such as myself, about the real world impact of temperature, weather and lots...

    Products For Piano Back Trim

MG dealer said touch up paint was on "back order". Meanwhile, I went for a touch up paint pen from the Touch Up Paint Factory. Regarding piano black trim cleaning, MG's recommendation in the user manual is to use diluted upholstery cleaner, followed by a damp microfibre cloth. Still looking...

    Products For Piano Back Trim

Any tips on products to clean and protect shiny black piano trim? I have had a facelift MG5 SE for just over a week and it has quite a lot of that trim. Also, after 800 miles I have 2 stone chips on rear door, only through to primer, no bare metal showing so touch up will suffice. Struggling...

MG5 Trophy Real World Consumption Thread

An efficiency of 2.3 applied to a usable battery capacity of 57.4 kWh implies a 100% range of 132 miles. Winter efficiency is poor for any ev and real world data from drivers like yourself can only helps us all to understand just how bad it can be. Keep up the good work! I still like the MG5...

MG5 Trophy Real World Consumption Thread

This calculation s something that exercises my little grey cells too. The start and finish % must be a calculation because it's not directly measurable, whereas miles, volts, amps and time are all things that can be directly measured. So, my thought is this: the odometer records mileage, the car...
