Thanks for the suggestions, I did try holding the connector in to no avail… I’ll give grifffs sequence a go… and yes gridserve help desk were brilliant, the guy tried to google the problem with Mg4 for me
Not sure if there is a better thread to post this….
I have a 10 month old MG 4 and I’m planning a long trip in two weeks, so I thought I’d better test out the C.C.S. charging for the first time. It failed to communicate with the car at Shell Recharge BP pulse and grid serve on different charges...
I am getting about a 30% reduction in range , but I’m doing quite a few journeys over 15 miles, so the battery is warmed up. Just means I charge 3 times a week at home rather than 2.
I wonder if it comes on immediately or waits for the car to be actually slowing continuously… for example if you lift off slightly on the motorway will the people following you get an instant brake light. Normal cars that coast, don’t have brake lights come on at all.
I guess that’s the joy of owning an EV, for me not a problem as my longest journey is only about 80 miles return, so just charge a little more often. It’s still a great car and fun to drive and charging at home is so simple and easier than ICE cars… I might change my mind if I ever need a rapid...
I like the new look, but in typical MG style there appear to be a few ‘features’. My internal temp is 78c… I might cook a roast later… also I like the map feature and that I can search for my nearest electric charge station… muang, only 5800 miles away… not sure I’ll make it there on a full charge
Here is Gary’s (at MG) reply… he really has put doubts in my head as to what is the best practice… I think I’ll keep charging to 80% twice a week as don’t need huge range, and give it a100% monthly..
Thanks for that, my issue that I complained to MG was about the fact the battery charge percent level keeps resetting back to 100%. I only charge twice a week as my journeys are less than 50 miles in one go. Gary unfortunately opened up a can of worms. I absolutely love my Trophy, never had...
Thanks, I just remembered that the car actually tells you that 80% is the health mode !
I’ll revert back to Gary and suggest he may wish to join this forum where he is free to debate the correct way to charge a trophy. Unless we already have representation from MG
Not sure if this is the right thread, my trophy is on R33 and the car has been back to the dealers twice now ( undertray and a misting up brake lights, each time I complain about the Bluetooth issue and each time I’m told my car is on the latest recommended software from MG… so I emailed MG...
