    Mirror indicator distraction.

It occasionally gets me too - I'd say it is a design flaw - a lack of ergonomic testing - a potential distraction as the head turns reflexly to the bright light and the brain goes into startle mode. The driver surely doesn't need to see the indicator as there is a sound and light from the dash...

    Charging

Thanks for that, wonder why I didn't think the nut icon represented battery settings! Dear MG, please put this back on the charging screen!

    Charging

I've noticed that scheduled charging has disappeared from the app, is this the same for everyone or have others found it somewhere new?

    Apple carplay?

I had the car for nearly a year before I got round to bringing a camel to the car to connect car play, all that time the phone would make no sound in the car! I expected connecting it by cable would enable me to set it up to bluetooth to the car. Now as far as I can see it only does CarPlay by...

    Charging 10%-100% every 3-6 months

I agree. The manual just describes type 1 &2 batteries and it took some digging to find out the 51 kWh battery is LFP. These tolerate deeper cycles better and like charging fully. It would be so easy to put a battery card into each car with details of management recommendations or just a QR code...

    Charging 10%-100% every 3-6 months

We have various tariff slots and only a granny charger but when I did the maths on what does the whole charge cost across 24 hours I decided that I shouldn’t sweat the small stuff, just reach in the pocket and pay the £15 and think what it would have cost at the petrol pump!

    MG4 steaming up problem

We have had this at times. A few days ago we realised there is an auto setting as well as recirculate or fresh air and getting rid of that resolved the issue. I guess it had gone to record to warm us up but it couldn't see the misting - and yes we had aircon off - you can see the miles drop off...

    Rear Seat Back Pops Out!

Thanks - sounds a bit Heath Robinson or dare I say 2CV. Why am I surprised! But could be quite useful. Also but for a means to thread that seatbelt out could make for a very handy cargo option. I recall my Aunt and Uncle crossed the Sahara in one of their 2CVs having taken out the rear seats to...

    Rear Seat Back Pops Out!

Folded the rear seat from the boot (to show a petrol head) and there was a box on the rear seat, when the seat reached this it just effortlessly popped out at the hinge. Is this normal? My wife reports it went back in just as easily - fold (rotate) it up, push it down. Has anyone removed rear...

Can we sleep lying down in the MG4?

Foetal position! Or remove the rear seat back - ours popped out at the hinge when I folded it down with an old ice cream tub on the back seat. Thought I had broken it but it could be pushed back down / in after bringing it back upright!

    Ejector seat command fail

You need one of these... salvaged from our first car, a Fiat 126 (652cc, air cooled).

    Seat trim "stitching" colour..

Yes we too have blue stitching in a red car, when I bought carmats .co.uk with red trim I didn't think about this!

What is the age profile of MG4 owner drivers?

Well, of course, we had it tough... we used to have to get up out of the shoe box in the middle of the night and drive to work in a Fiat 126 652cc, air cooled, didn't like to restart when hot, embarrassing in petrol stations but at least it wasn't too heavy to push. Some things don't change...

How much do you spend on charging?

In. spring and summer and autumn we were averaging 4.3m/kwh and we charged pretty much exclusively with granny charger on our 100Green lowTIDE of 8.6p/kWh from midnight to 0700, occasionally using our spare solar that would otherwise be exported for 7p/kWh to Good Energy through our FIT or free...

MG 4 charge door latch not working when it’s cold

Happily we didn't even need to try when we had -10 yesterday! When we did have the problem the alarm ping went off after a minute or two but a visual warning remained - the door still wouldn't latch.

Not sure MG4 X Power good idea

I used to hoof it in my Ice cars if I needed to get out of a side road into rather busy traffic. I did this once in my MG4EV SR and the back end stepped out due to the power and RWD. Lesson learned. I think it has more power than needed and a lighter motor would (perhaps slightly) increase range.

    MG4 Air-con & Under tray update

My neighbour reported he could see something hanging below my MG4EV recently so my other half who was off to a funeral dropped into the Bristol Street Motors that have said they can service it (their neighbouring branch is an MG dealer (38 miles further away)). They removed this item which as...

    Battery equalisation

Where did you learn about every few months going down below 10% then slow charging, Gazza? You would think they would have to flag such stuff up to us on purchase or in the manual!

LFP: Battery heater engaged at 97% on granny charger in subzero temperatures

When it's daytime, and time or electricity are dear, skip the last few percent unless you absolutely need it (and how can you calculate that that closely?) and let it go to 100% once a week on cheap overnight electric. We have a long extension to our parking space and only granny charge at about...
