I suspect OTA from the car has been available since day 1 but given the issues even dealers have had in the past, they just haven't put anything on the relevant server
Have you seen anything related to rollback functionality? If they had a rollback process for failed updates, it would make OTA...
I know I've been giving these to people who have asked but giving them out on Facebook like that makes me uncomfortable. Could have lots of annoyed people soon who have messed up the process!
@BobbyBrown was very kind to share the files with me
I have them on my google drive and can share a link to them for anyone who is interested but use them at your own risk! As I mentioned before, you could completely brick your car
100%
There's a serious risk of breaking functionality or even bricking the car
However this might lead to all sorts of interesting things in the right hands as it may finally allow things like adb etc
I can help with google drive storage if needed. I've 2TB
A lot of dealers will only update the infotainment unit if you complain about certain issue, bluetooth repairing being one of the main ones
In terms of OTA, they are still not available but I did see a pic that came from a French user showing a message about receiving an update OTA. That's the...
Had my first service done last week and due to bluetooth issues they updated to R46 (annoyed that R59 was pulled as I probably would have got that!)
Bluetooth was even worse afterwards! I've since factory resetted it twice, once through the normal menu and once through the secret menu. Since...
I'm not a developer myself but my understanding is that most development teams do something called regression testing where they check all parts of the system after the new code has been applied. Parts that the new code doesn't touch. While it is possible for new bugs to be introduced, this...
I generally agree with this sentiment and they also say pretty much the same in the video
I only came across ABC as I was looking to see if doing small charges like this were harmful as I wanted to to take more advantage of the reduced rate during the night
Seems it's actually beneficial and...
I've just recently become aware of the ABC concept (Always Be Charging)
The idea is that it is better for the battery to be topped up every day to 70-80%. So topping up from 60-80% every night is better than topping up from 20-80% every 4 days etc. The once a month 100% charge should also be...
Thanks folks. Due its first service soon so wanted to know if it was something I needed to flag!
I've an MY22 on R33 so don't have the new screen. Can't help I'm afraid
I've never had a car with a heated steering wheel and have been thankful for it in my MG4 given the dip in temperatures
However I just want to know from others if it is normal for the heating to "pulse". I mean that the heating is not constant and turns on and off.
Wherever I'm holding goes...
Did they update you to R33 or R46?
Some people with MY22 cars have been getting updated to R46
Is FK the dealers? Just curious as I might go back to them myself for the R46 update if they're doing it as the Bluetooth pairing issue is driving me nuts and I believe R46 mostly fixes this
Will contact my dealer next week to see if they're applying R46 for MY22 cars as the Bluetooth issue is driving me crazy
Presume nothing has changed with MY22 cars and one pedal driving?
If I had that and the Bluetooth fixed I'd be happy for the foreseeable
The rusty central nut is common enough. It is one of the things mentioned to check when picking up the car. Happens on new ones too, probably from the weeks it takes to ship from China
Saw a post the other day on another thread saying someone did get R46 on their MY22 trophy but it was only the infotainment system i.e. one pedal driving was not in the settings. They suggested that might require more updates to modules
