Backup on both the 3.6 and 5kW inverters is limited to 16A. https://givenergy.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/UK-Datasheet-Hybrid-Gen-3-3.6.pdf

My DNO application for G99 approval cost £200 last September.

    Circular reasoning

Without mains gas then I agree that the Eddi is a good idea. Re the inverter, 3.65kW would be a 'G98' approval which basically means that you only have to tell your DNO that you are installing it. For a 5kW it becomes a 'G99' which means you have to ask permission which can take a bit longer...

Two suggestions. Firstly, I would go for a 5kW inverter which will only add £150 or so. With a 3.6kW you will be drawing from the grid when you turn on the oven and the hob or kettle. We have a 5kW and it's very rare that we exceed that during the day when drawing from the battery but...

Leave an OBD dongle permanently connected with ABRP without triggering the alarm !

No mention was made about Carlink at the start of this. The question was about OBD Dongles.

Leave an OBD dongle permanently connected with ABRP without triggering the alarm !

Surely that would only apply if you left your phone attached to the USB in the car when you locked it?

    Non-Tesla EV Charging

Well there are two other Superchargers between Harrogate and Berwick which are Tesla only. Both have V2 chargers which are 150kW shared bay (so only 75kWish if both are occupied) and it's possible that Tesla's data shows that there is not enough spare capacity to allow non Teslas to access...

As Archev has said, the Libbi is Myenergi's battery system. Having a battery and inverter from another manufacturer is not a problem and long as the charger and CT clamps are installed correctly to avoid battery drain. The installer should be aware of this...

    Non-Tesla EV Charging

Agreed but there is only 130 miles between the two Superchargers mentioned which I would not regard as excessive and I read it as the OP thought he would need a charger somewhere in between.

That's everything of 50kW and above according to Chargefinder.

Is there such a thing as an ev charger protector?

I've got a small stainless steel canopy that I got off eBay that sits above my Zappi. It's useless for weather protection but the charger is mounted directly below my Sky dish and the pigeons like to roost on that so it keeps the crap off the charger and more importantly, the cable.

Leave an OBD dongle permanently connected with ABRP without triggering the alarm !

I had my OBD dongle plugged in for 7 months. No alarm issues.

    Circular reasoning

When spec'ing a new install I would insist on the following: 1. A charger that is compatible with IOG (currently the Zappi and Ohme). 2. The charger to be wired from its own separate consumer unit which is fed direct from the supply meter. 3. All communications from charger/inverter/battery...

We had a 10kWh Libbi battery system (9.2kWh usable) and a Zappi charger installed at the end of November. Disregarding the solar (only 7 panels as it's a new build and the builder refused to add more) using our IOG tariff I've calculated that we are saving £1190 pa on charging our EV versus...

Charge Place Scotland change of payment provider

I've just seen in a Facebook group that CPS are changing their payment provider from Go Cardless to Stripe with effect from April 15th. So if you have a CPS account you will be unable to charge from the 15th onwards unless you have updated your details. Five days notice is not exactly ideal...
