ECO+ "waiting for surplus" is really self explanatory, it is waiting for your solar panels to create a surplus supply and will only charge the car when this happens (during daylight hours).
Charging from surplus is using energy that would end up being sold back to the grid.
I have a Standard Range Tesla Model 3 (3 years) 19k miles, the lifetime consumption is 234Wh per mile, i.e. better than 4miles per kWh. I drive always with range in mind, aircon off, heater off etc. whenever possible without making life uncomfortable.
The real winner with Tesla is the...
And there you have it. Well spotted Michael.
My wife has a three year old ZS EV standard range, I have the three year old Tesla.
The build quality of the ZS is better (I know I clean both cars by hand, it's only then that you notice fit & finish in detail).
The ZS is slightly quieter, the ride...
I have a Tesla model 3 SR+ coming up to 3 years old 15k miles, average over 15k is 240Wh per mile or 4+ miles per kWh.
I am considering a Trophy connect, the question is what miles per kWh are ZS Long range achieving. I don't race around just general mixed driving and also what range does the...
Our car has since been back for a persistent airbag light.
All updates that can be done have been done (they assure me).
Plugged the car in for instant charge at the weekend, wouldn't charge because I had programmed the BP app/website with a daily 2 hour charge, this had to be cancelled, it...
As you are in touch with podpoint could you ask them if the BP Chargemaster is made in the same factory, it seems the software to run mine and yours are very similar.
It's ironic that i'm using a BP Chargemaster charger and experienced the same problems, I wonder if both chargers are the same internals, software etc?
This is beginning to sound like my problem but with BP Chargmaster.
I offer my results that might point the way.
Not the same charger I know but sounds like the same kind of issue.
Good Luck.
My ZSev has allegedly all the latest software.

SUCCESS!
I managed to charge last night on the timer. It went like this...
I set a daily charge of two hours every night from 10:15 to 12:15. This I did at about noon, car not plugged in.
6:30pm Unlocked the car and lifted the charge port cover and relocked the car.
8:30pm plugged the car...
Deleted all previous schedules and set up a daily charge of 2 hours from 10:15pm, just after my cheap rate kicks in. I am going to let the schedule run whether the car is plugged in or not.
I do not have the car today as it is back at the dealers for another airbag light fault.
Spoke to OHME (human being) yesterday and yes they are working on software for other chargers but not for MG, it seems that the car needs it's own inbuilt app (API) so no joy there then.
Meanwhile I am going to try Angusgolfer's system.
Latest Battery Management Software (BMS) update that allows doors to be charged when unlocked and apparently also timed charging came out in February. The BMS update that came out in January is allegedly faulty and is no longer installed.
None of this is of value to me as I have a BP...
Cannot get any joy out of timer charging on the BP Chargemaster/MGZSEV. It seems that OHME have been working on software that will allow other chargers to use it's software. I have contacted OHME to see if they are working on software for the BP Chargemaster charger.
I will report back with any news
When you are good at CAD then this is a piece of cake, it's just coming up with the optimum design. Congrats on efforts so far.
Just a couple of thoughts.
Incorporate drain hole in holster.
Push entry for CCS plug then swivel parallel to wall to avoid ridiculous stickout.
All ideas are easily...
