I guess that 20% is already wiped out with VAT (if it was a new purchase) and then supply will dictate used prices until, demand weakens which is likely to happen mid next year. The recent leap of second hand prices may well soon burn out as retailers/manufacturers fight for share and volume sales.
Happened to me once on a Jaaaaaguar. New rear tyre installed, the mechanic had left the flex hose in such a place that it was fouled by the tyre. Gradually wore it away until the hose split and fluid left the system. Long brake pedal that day.... I used the handbrake.
Maybe just me but, having been in a scare like that which impacted on my health, I would opt for a secure support system before trundling my story out to the Sun/Mailonline etc?
My fav quote from this story "There was no way I could stop. I was calling it the runaway electric car." I always name things when in a life endangering situation....then, just below, an ad for 'killer new EV's' !!!
Had the MG5 (Mk1) 2nd service in July. 16k miles. Quoted £138 by one dealership and £80 by another (MG) about 10 miles away. Thought £80 was good plus, included the free AA membership thingy.
Yes, this seems to be possible to outwit the start up system by being too quick on the 'push' then gear select. Had me worried a couple of times but, turn it all off, then back on again.....
Have a Mk1 MG5 and can't say I've noticed it. It's clearly electrically powered so, perhaps something buggy going on with a setting? In my Ioniq 5, the 'Lane Assist' tries to violently throw me into the hedge/oncoming traffic at every given opportunity.....
Yes, it throws a wobbly every now and again but sorts itself out on the MG5. My own Ioniq 5 sometimes does similar and throws a 'whitey' but, again sorts itself out.
I'd quite happily take an old model if I could save £10k. Once cost of living and the recession bites around Q1 in 2024, I'm hoping there'll be a raft of deals chucking out surplus stock.
Quite. The VAT element already chops 20% of plus any 'forecourt' value. Even with a chunky Affinity saving...
Just to add to the discussion. MG5 in yesterday for the KERs update. Around 3 hours, vehicle check and was washed too. No fuss and all rather pleasant team. West Cornwall based dealer.
Similar thing happened with mortgages and endowment etc. The bubble burst ferociously then plus, when interests rate rocket, the affordable becomes impossible. Agree, keep within your means and take the stress away.
Indeed and, who's the chap from Carwow who's obsessed with scratching his nails across the interior and trying to stuff a 2 litre water bottle in every pocket available?!
Still think a decent homologated alloy works better and less fuss. Wouldn't fancy fighting the damned trim when I inevitably get a puncture in mid winter.
