ChargePlace Scotland has a fair number of untethered slower AC chargers, so I’ve used my Type 2 cable quite a bit. I wish I could fit it below the boot, but there’s not a lot of space in the SE LR unfortunately.
I’ve never installed the app and have gotten along just fine, but I can see how it can be convenient in the example Grriff gave. I set the charge limit on the infotainment screen and as I have a Zappi, I use its app to see when it’s finished charging.
Hopefully, you’ll be back up and running shortly Steve. I would make your garage aware of possible software updates being needed following the fitting of the new CCU which in many cases ignores the 80% charging limit when set.
I suppose with the SR, you’d have to stop it manually if you were wishing to have a lower percentage of charge. While I had the software issue, I just calculated how long it would take the car to charge to 80% and then stopped it manually.
The car was in for nearly five hours and as well as the service, it got seven software updates for an issue with charging not being able to be limited to 80%. All working now.
Good idea. Also, if you navigate to your account, then preferences you can change your profile picture to upload a thumbnail of your car. You can also include a “signature” which will appear under any post you make.
I took out a three year service plan with my MG dealership, with an annual mileage of 10k. The car had its first service on Wednesday and here is the checklist I was given:
That’s good news Lango. Looking back in the thread, it took about five weeks for the CCU for my car to arrive.
You might want to mention the 80% charge limit being ignored after fitting the new CCU experienced by myself and other members, so that your dealer can test it and perform software...
The car went in for its first service on Wednesday and I’m glad to say there were no issues on that front. Before I had booked it in for the service, I explained to the dealer about the charge not stopping when set to 80%, as this has been happening since the new CCU was fitted. So, on the day...
This sounds like the same problem we’ve been experiencing benflugel. I recommend asking your dealer to thoroughly test the AC charging after installing software updates. Just sticking it on for say half an hour, will not let them know whether or not it’s working properly. I had the updates done...
This has happened a few times to the infotainment screen on my car and to bring it back to life, I just reset it by pressing and holding the physical home button underneath the screen for ten seconds.
Sorry to hear you’re having problems yet again, tsedge. I thought we’d seen the back of this issue. I hope it’s just a software issue and not a faulty brand new CCU.
Sounds good so far DelBoy. Let’s hope that’s the end of that issue. The next time you charge the car, try setting a limit of 80% to see if stops or keeps going. Those of us who have had new CCUs fitted have found the car ignores the limit. Fortunately, one member has had a software patch which...
