    Problem with MG ZS EV Smartkey Detection;

this is in the '5 manual. May apply to the ZS too: Inadvertent Locking of Keys in Vehicle If the vehicle is locked using the mechanical key blade or handset whilst a smart key/s remain inside, the following actions will occur: • One smart key locked in the vehicle - The immobilisation release...

    Mirror doesn't fold

mine (albeit a '5) sounded like they were struggling this morning, I've turned that off until it warms up a bit...

Car doesn't like 30 mph sign

I'm in the 5, but there is something in the 5 manual that says this intelligently  resets when you encounter a junction (not sure how it decides that it's a junction, but indicating and turning seems to do it). The idea being that it doesn't yet know the limit of the road you have just...

    AEB and Front Collision Assist

I all fairness, I can't see how you would test this without being fully prepared to hit something at a reasonable speed. It is an 'emergency' braking system after all. I would have though that if you're actually looking where you're going then basic self preservation would see you braking...

    AEB and Front Collision Assist

Oh, and @Lobogris - one tip I picked up from here is that the sensitivity setting only affects the alert, not the actual braking intervention. (that's not very clear in the '5 manual)

    AEB and Front Collision Assist

I have similar - especially given that some people on here complain that the emergency braking is a touch over-sensitive, I have neither had the car brake or even heard the pump priming, I have however had a dash warning and reacted accordingly. I have never really been in a situation where the...

    Infotainment Screen Dimming

but if it's anything like the '5, it's still too bright (at least, it is for me. I like a dim dash at night and still find the 5 a bit bright. Don't like the reflection off the driver's side window either.

    OCTOPUS GO Price Increase

I could be wrong, but I believe it's a 1 year fixed tariff, so it'll hit you next Jan when you come to renew assuming things haven't settled down by then.

    Screen

not banging it - just touching the screen. I was playing with a 'blank screen' function, then realised I didn't know how to turn the screen back on but you just touch the screen again to bring it back on. I think you would have known if you had done that though...

    Screen

Yeah. @Kithmo was right. Just tapped the screen and it came back on.

    Winter weather

I did wonder about that - whenever the system is set to 'auto' my A/C light is permanently on, but I've still noticed things getting a bit steamy. A press of the 'Demist' button sorts that though, Maybe the A/C button means that the system is 'active / available' but not necessarily 'on' unless...

    Winter weather

but...but... the manual specifically (and repeatedly) refers to this as the 'air cooling' function. ;) I'm with you on that one though. If my GCSE physics from, erm, a while ago, servers me correctly, the dehumidification is probably just a side effect of the cooling - in that the act of...

    Range and things!!

yeah, the needle dies tweak up a bit on that initial launch (even with a gentle start). That's probably the only time I see significant movement on that dial .

    Range and things!!

I'm tight (might have mentioned that before!) and could routinely get my scenic knocking on the door of 70mpg, but I've rarely managed to get anything over 4M/kWh yet on my '5LR (had it a month). I put it down to a couple of things though: 1) It's a different style of driving, and probably a...

    Screen

Aye, that was probably it. Don't remember it being a long panic. Red herring then - I'm pretty sure OP has tried giving the screen a tap... Sorry @Tommysan , if the battery trick doesn't do the job then it looks like it's a trip back to the dealer.

    Screen

ok. I think I remember doing this when I first got the car. There's something you can do to switch that screen to a blank mode, but I can't remember how I did it or how I got back out if it. (or for that matter, if I just dreamed it!) I'm in a 5. I'll have a play if I get a chance and see if I...

Winter tyre pressure management and effect on range

Yeah,, that's why I haven't done anything yet. I noticed that the miles/KwH from cold has dropped, but soon picks back up. the real question is how much the air temp affects the running temp of the tyres. If they still warm up to roughly the same temp through usage, then it doesn't matter, but...

Winter tyre pressure management and effect on range

In all honesty, if I would have had TPMS and a trip MPG readout in my Scenic I would have been asking exactly the same question as @AussiePete. I had also noticed that the cold (i.e. not running) tyre pressure had dropped along with the recent ambient temperature drop.

Octopus Go tariff or stay with Agile?

I signed up to switch to 'go' (and emailed the agile team before the switch to ask about go-faster). They can't connect to your smart meter until you're switched though so you would always be on a standard tariff for a bit whilst that happens. For me, that was pretty quick and they put me...
