I hate this car please reassure me

Had a few of the issues you mention OP, had my Trophy LR for 14 months, 10k miles. Mostly local journeys - 80% under 40 mph, 20% 40-70mph. Front Collision Assist is the main reason my leasing company have authorised me to return the car. Which I will be doing ASAP. The cars 'brain' is around a...

Is The MG4 The Most Enjoyable Car To Drive That You Have Owned.

I second this, had a P38 range rover 2.5d for a while and it was an joy to drive. Though it was in the garage more than on the road due to an unscrupulous previous owner bodging everything. I love the MG4 though, only complaint would be more boot space, but I am used to large SUVs

    MG4 easy to steal?

It's not just signal boosters to worry about, it's signal decrypters/cloning tools and signal spoofers. Seen CCTV videos of 100k cars getting stolen by one man with an iPad/laptop and a signal receiver. It's pretty scary stuff. Especially since most new cars above even a fairly low price...

    First day first problem

May I introduce you to @Rolfe , she has a detailed comprehension of the SE and it's 'quirks', and even some workarounds.

    MG4 Alarm

No, it doesn't - the UK spec doesn't anyway can't say for certain about other places.

Trophy owners - can you disable automatic door locking at 10 mph?

Not being able to turn the Auto-lock off I'd say is definitely a bug in the SE, as you say - why have the feature at all - if it's down to cost it would be cheaper without it. The lack of memory function (folder playlists) and usability for the USB music source, is a bug across all specs, but...

Trophy owners - can you disable automatic door locking at 10 mph?

Just FYI on my Trophy R24, the radio/usb music does start as soon as the drivers door is opened and driver sits down - as long as you didn't pause it before leaving the car last. So it does remember this. The fact it doesn't remember on the SE though, is still a bug I'd say.

What would make public charging better for you..?

The difference in price between chargers is mental, even some offering the same speed charger from free to 30p/kWh then others charging 69p for the same kWh and same speeds. If a petrol station was charging more than double, people definitely wouldn't use it and it would either go under or...

    Dead car

No I totally agree, it shouldn't drain it - I was just reminding yourself and others for future reference - every time you lock/unlock/connect via app/Ready - it consumes 12v battery. So a 12 battery that hasn't had a chance to charge back up, and is running at a low SOC, will only get lower...

    Summer's here.

He's not very well liked among .. well anyone I can think of. And I can see why, he doesn't help the stigma attached to being a cyclist one bit.

    Dead car

Bear in mind each time you connect to the app to view the car it wakes the car up and consumes the 12v battery.

    Amazon Music

I agree, and it also stops unruly passengers from realising they can change your song without you being able to do anything about it

What would make public charging better for you..?

For me personally, most of the public charging I'm likely to use (90% of the time) would be destination chargers for a top up on the go.. I'd like to see; •More chargers, •Cheaper Rates & Capped prices - 5% VAT •'EV Charging Only' - Enforced, •Wider Bays, •Contactless on all...

    Amazon Music

I've seen no mention at all of Alexa within the car, usually you have to agree to T&C's and agree to set up Alexa if you use it on a device. I think Amazon Music (via infotainment) is only controllable via touch buttons and the MG voice commands (Next Song, Skip Song etc. Via Android Auto it...

    iSMART app v1.1.2 available

Sorry, that was a typo 😂 'The 14 year old apprentice tasked with building and improving the relatively simple app, using Windows '98 and a dial-up modem'.

    iSMART app v1.1.2 available

The driver side is now shown on the right, however MG Touchpoint still doesn't work and still shows a background of Berlin with the 'loading' wheel of doom. If I was part of the development team working on this app, I'd be embarrassed.

    Speed bumps

I think this just depends on what your local speed bumps are like. Ours in my part of NorthEastEngland, range from full width of road bumps, ones that your wheels have to go over evenly at either side, to ones you can drive straight over but these can vary in height, although I don't think the...

    Show us yours

I may even consider having mein handles wrapped in black gloss or a paint matched wrap if it exists, if anything just to protect them. I do wish we had flush handles like the Tesla, but then I suppose the doors would be just as likely be the next victim anyway.

    Show us yours

I'd suggest door handles and insets get the PPF wrapping if that's not already in your included list of main areas. They are particularly soft paint, I've already got a small paint divot where someone's car door has pressed into my handle 🫤 and can see the hand inset becoming scratched.
